@JohnnyShoulder Tropico 5 & 6 have one big difference where both are level based but T5 has you using the same couple of levels as you progress through the game so you don’t need to build up an economy each time (but any problems you create for yourself are still there) but T6 has completely separate levels meaning you need to build from scratch each time but with a specific end goal in mind.

The Two Point games are completely level focused so while you do build from scratch, each has its own unique problem to tackle.

The only one I had to restart from scratch in Hospital was the final level which has a very unique twist and I needed the basic set up in place to get a trophy for the level.

The game is very much a spiritual successor to Theme Hospital in gameplay and humour.

@Thrillho @JohnnyShoulder I quite enjoy those sort of games every now and then. I got the platinum in Surviving Mars and Tropico 5 and clearly not many PS players complete these sort of games as they are among my rarest platinums. I'd say Surviving Mars is one of my favourites, I don't remember it being that hard but I think I did put over a hundred hours into it.
I never tried Two Point Hospital but did complete Campus and really enjoyed it. I liked how it introduced new elements which each new campus to give a gentle introduction to all gameplay aspects. I've got the space camp expansion in my wishlist to pick up at some point.

I'm planning on doing Frostpunk from my backlog soon and have Planet Coaster to try sometime too. I've been tempted by Jurassic Park Evolution ever since watching a funny stream of Rob & Dave playing it on Playstation Access.

@BearsEatBeets I just always struggled with the economy and resources in Surviving Mars as I always seemed to run out of metals and not have the money to import them. I only ever had a fighting chance if I used the game setting of doubling all factory outputs.

I did really like how you could have one unique anomaly per game which could really help or hinder you! The Green Planet DLC was really cool too and I managed one run where I terraformed the planet.

Looking back, it’s pretty much just the online trophies I’m missing for T5 and T6 as I have all the single player ones.

If you enjoyed Campus then I highly recommend TP Hospital! The trophy for the final level is a great challenge. And Jurassic World is good fun. The plat looks achievable but it seems I didn’t bother with any of the ones to do with getting photos of dinosaurs doing specific things.

@Thrillho I never tried any of the DLC for Surviving Mars but would imagine I would have enjoyed them. Maybe if I ever run low on things to play. I remember going back for a little bit after a late update added new features. I remember the ability to smooth terrain and make ramps to the higher elevations really helping the game.
Yeah I might give TP Hospital a go at some point. I'm trying to buy less and clear my backlog but if I succeed it could get a purchase.

I only have T5 and was lucky enough a friend was playing it at the same time that we did an online session and got the online trophies done in one go. If it's something you are eager to get I would be willing to reinstall and see if we can do a session to knock them out, I don't remember them being particularly tricky.

A mate of mine was having difficulty getting a co-op trophy on Man of Medan so I installed it and made a start on it with him. Never been that excited by these cinematic horror games but seemed okay… gonna play through the whole thing with him tomorrow, so will have a better idea on it then.

I am playing the Part 1 rebuild of Left Behind. This is very obviously something they just cut out of the core game and sold back to us as DLC, now it is here packaged in this Part 1 package, seems really weird they didn't just integrate this back into the core game like Mass Effect Legendary edition did with their DLC.

Life to the living, death to the dead.

Thrillho

@BearsEatBeets That’s very kind of you but I’m not that bothered about going back to get the trophy now.

The Green Planet DLC really does completely overhaul the game though and gives a game a really nicely defined end point when you finally have a successful colony that can open its domes to the oxygen rich air or the transformed Mars.

I just skimmed this review from when it came out which echoes how I felt;

Well I've made a start and put in a few hours on Jedi: Fallen Order on the PS5 and yeah, it's pretty much as I expected it would be - Star Wars with Uncharted like traversal and Soulslike combat/save points. Got through the starting area and have just completed temple of the rolling balls where you learn the push ability. Quite liking the exploration, getting to grips with the combat but really don't like having to jump and catch on hanging ropes, especially more than one of one at the end of slidy bits!!

Any (spoiler free) hints and tips or things I should know?

Thrillho

@sorteddan I can’t think of any hints or tips per se. The platinum is very achievable but some of the backtracking for missed collectibles is a right pain in the posterior.

Some of the combat specific trophies might need a bit of work but most are achievable through the game and the others are easy to mop up at the end seeing as enemies respawn.

@Pizzamorg I'm not actually sure that's true. There's a gameplay mechanic in there that I'm pretty sure they would've integrated into the game proper if they could have.

What do you mean? Luring human enemies into infected? That's pretty fun. Dunno why we didn't have these in the main game

@Pizzamorg Yeah - exactly that. It is very entertaining.

Love how even the game gets absolutely bodied by clickers 😂 The game is just like me, for real.

@Thrillho Interesting read, more harsh on the base game than I would be but all this chat has got me tempted. I've noticed by some stroke of serendipity that it's in the new PS Store sale on DLC so I'm very much considering it right now. I like having a game I can chill with every now and then and this would fit nicely.

Dead Space - it’s taken a few chapters to pull me in but I am really enjoying it now. The changes elevate it above the original for me. I don’t remember a lot of it, and the changes keep me on my toes. The zero-G sections are so much more fun. I really hope DS2 gets the same treatment.

@kyleforrester87 That is good to hear, and glad that you have started to enjoy the game. There is rumours that they may do a 'new' Dead Space 2 and not remake it.

@JohnnyShoulder really? That would be a shame perhaps, DS2 was excellent. They can do what they want with 3, though!

Tbf, I can see them making big changes with a DS2 remake but getting to the same conclusion. I’d be open to it, I guess.

Ratchet & Clank rift Apart, what a masterpiece. Straight forward, full of fun and joy, just one way to go and you always know where, and from I have seen its also not too long. This is the perfect game. All should be like this.

@RogerRoger That has just swung one knotch towards giving the game a go knowing it has dual sense support. Thanks for the update (on the update)!

@LN78 Oh there is still ways for the pendulum swing in its favour. I will probs wait until it comes onto PS Plus. Saying that, some of the complaints regarding the story beats I think I can live with.

@JohnnyShoulder @RogerRoger As far as best use of adaptive triggers (and the DualSense in general), Astrobot definitely takes the cake. But also, shout-out to Returnal, Rift Apart, and GT7. As far as third-party I really liked the use of the triggers in Control: Ultimate Edition too. With special commendation to Marvel’s Avengers, surprisingly. Too bad the rest of the game was so mediocre.
