@KAIRU Glad to see you are loving Need for Speed Unbound. I assumed you were since it showed you as playing it for 6 hours yesterday. It's rarely completely accurate, but it's still a lot regardless.
I did see one review that said the lack of restarts and losing money when you get caught by the cops at night can both be frustrating. I take it they haven't really been an issue for you at all though given your early take on the game.
@PegasusActual93 Thanks for the info on the length and such. I'm not sure if I will have much time at all in between God of War Ragnarok and Crisis Core, but a game of that length could be helpful next year when the onslaught of releases continue.

I reinstalled Dreams having not really played much of it when I got it back at launch, so me and the boy have spent an afternoon Dream surfing and having a great time. It really is a brilliant piece of software and I need to find more time to really explore how to create things for myself but there is no shortage to rhe amount of games on offer. I've just finished one called Sanity Loop which has obvious P.T. inspirations and is well designed amd have a few more in my play later list
Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.
@KAIRU I may give Unbound a shot down the road when it's cheaper... and probably suck at it, get caught, get frustrated, and eventually give up and not finish yet another racing game.
You're loving The Callisto Protocol? Time to sell your PS5 and give up gaming. It can't be that good.

@RogerRoger to be fair it seems to be well curated to find quality experiences relatively easily and the home screen shows just a few from each genre or playlist and the website is a great way to look for games. It still seems a bit cumbersome trying to keep games available that you want to replay and trying to find the actual game for me to continue is trickier than it needs to be, it's really good though

First impressions of Sonic Frontiers is that it is definitely not a looker. Some awful pop in and the draw distance is woeful for what I come to expect from a modern day open world game.
The enemies have been a little bit nondescript so far, but still early days so far and that may improve. However the game is a lot of fun to play and it feels like an open world pinball machine. The special stages that you can unlock are cool, and are more like the traditional point to point Sonic levels but in 3D.

@JohnnyShoulder Yeah, the fog that's hampering the draw distance is just the weather. When it clears, you'll be able to see the entire island from high vantage points. There are similar weather effects on all islands, but they're just for atmosphere, and always temporary.
Here's a shot I took standing in (almost) the exact same place from your shot, only with the sun out.
This isn't me leaping to the game's defence, by the way. It sounds like you're enjoying your time with it, which is excellent. Just wanted to assure you that one of your issues wouldn't be an issue, s'all.

@RogerRoger while we're talking about Sonic, what the hell is this abomination that is Sonic CD??
The whole Past/Future mechanic is just plain weird and having to try and hunt down the machine in the past to get the good outcome is a right faff and feels like everything old Sonic shouldn't be. I'm still not 100% sure how you actually seem to trigger the time jump either to be honest.
I'd forgotten how brutal Sonic 1 was in places too. Scrap Brain Zone in particular is just downright unfair at times, especially those flaming pipes which only trigger as you're just about to go over them. And those special stages are just as infuriating as I do remember!
@RogerRoger Ha, I was worried that you loved Sonic CD from how you worded your post before about it.
I had kind of figured out about the time travel thing but it is a pain for the reasons you give. I still don’t get why you’d travel to the future though?
The title song is also really weird and there are some quite annoying sound effects in the game (the “swish” of spikes going up and down really grates on me for some reason).
The special stages are as annoying as Sonic 1 but in very different ways. I can’t wait for the S2 and S3 ones!
Sonic Frontiers which is awesome, really enjoying it. Took the plunge after a crappy day at work and I've reached the second island already, but gone back to first one to clear it 😄
Finding the game extremely relaxing which is strange for a sonic game.
@MightyDemon82 I've only just reached the second island, but have cleared the map of the first island.
Glad you are enjoying also. Yeah, you are right, it does feel strangely relaxing at times to play. It could be the music when you are exploring, which is quite chilled.

@RogerRoger Thanks it's a fantastic game I've now done 100% of the first island bar a 1 or 2 S Ranks. Even fished until I got everything. Yes the music is definitely very chill.
@RogerRoger Ah, I missed your review as I don’t venture into that thread so much these days. I’m back on familiar territory with S2 and S3 so looking forward to them!
It does feel kind of strange that they put CD second in the timeline for the games on Origins too.
Been a while since I posted, a few health problems which resulted in a couple of nights in hospital but all good now.
Anyway it gave me 3 weeks off work and while the first week I spent in hospital the 2nd I spent recovering but last week I managed to get a good few hours on Cyberpunk, I started it well over a month ago and was fully expecting it to be near enough finished by now but life got in the way, I'm absolutely loving it, I missed it when it first came out and I'm so glad that I have now tried it, on the ps5 it's spot on, I always feel like I want to keep playing, I've even delayed my Ragnarok playthrough for it, I'm a good way into the story but the side content is really enjoyable and it keeps pulling me in because I just wanna see what it has to offer, what surprises their might be. Don't get me wrong there's a few bugs still nothing game breaking and also I still think a 3rd person mode would amplify the game and also encourage a few more to play it but it's the most fun I've had in a while.
Also been playing MW2 enjoyed the campaign and I'm enjoying the multiplayer, tried warzone 2.0 but same as Warzone it's just not for me, DMZ was fun but once you have the weapons you want there's not much reason to go back in unless they add more content to it.
Also the new season of Fortnite started and me and my little lad play it together and I've been enjoying the new update, its breathed some new fresh life into the game.
@MaulTsir
Sorry to hear about your recent issues but hopefully that is now behind you. Glad you are now back to your gaming self and have stumbled on something that's really clicking with you. Hope it continues.

@MaulTsir Glad that everything is good now and that you are loving Cyberpunk 2077. Even though it is technically a 2021 game, it was one of my favorite games I've played this year. It's a shame it had to release in such a terrible state, but the PS5 version is really good.

@MaulTsir happy to hear that you’re over your recent health issues buddy… and good to get some further intel on how good the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 is, I’ll have to make some time for it in the coming year for sure. Also, you’re in for a treat when you finally get around to starting God of War: Ragnarok… incredible game.
Yeah I'm really enjoying the game, managed to get a few trophies to pop with out even trying and I've checked all the requirements for a plat run and I'm Still golden in that aspect. It really is a game worth playing, it's just a shame it had the problems it did, if it was released in the state its in now then it would be getting lorded and deservedly so.
On another note I am so stoked for Ragnarok but I didn't want to be half way through a game and then feel like i was rushing through Ragnarok to get back to the other game but I really can't wait, it'll be my game I play over Christmas this year.
