Hello- pardon my limited understanding of such things. Hoping the experts here can educate me.

I purchased an EU PS5 (CFI-1016A) for my son to be used in the US. Hoping someone can provide some info on challenges that may be faced? I don’t mean power supply, I’ve got a step up power converter. Referring to gaming.

From what I’ve read, there will be no region locking with the PS5. I understand this means discs are playable regardless of what country they come from. How will digital downloading be impacted? Is an EU unit used in the US able to download digital content? And for the occasional blue ray dvd evening, is playing movies an issue?

Apologies for not knowing what’s probably very simple for you folks. Thanks in advance for your help!

I played the European versions of both the base PS4 and PS4 Pro in my home country for years without problems and I think it'll be even less of an issue for you to do so in the US. I may not have gotten a PS5 yet due to stock issues but those who have bought imported ones at scalped prices did not report issues either. Discs aren't region locked but you should make sure that you have a PSN account based in the region where the physical copy is from or you will run into issues when downloading DLCs.
