I reckon this increase is Hermen getting back at us for not buying (in huge quantities) Marathon, or Concord and all the Hermen Out comments.
The RAM pricing is a mere slither in the pie.
Plus the lack of competition which we have always maintained would see the return of Bad Sony.

I think it is now worth reiterating this to as many people as possible. I think the base console is also on sale. I hope anyone that was thinking about any kind of PS5 console purchase soon can still afford the damn thing by the time they manage to check out. It feels like gating more people off in these times is pretty crappy. Expected, but crappy.

In a way it is good that they held off for a while after Xbox increased their prices, but it is a madly steep increase and feels somewhat like Zimbabwean hyperinflation where one minute its one fairly normal price, the next minute you need to take out a mortgage for it.
