BUT I found a comment saying that some room spawn rates might be affected by the number of Ether you have? Seems far fetched but at this point I might as well give it a try. I'm full of ether so I'm gonna cleanse some stuff, I guess

Patch Notes:

• Fixed an issue with Deceased Scouts not appearing as often as intended.
• After having one of their Deceased Scout corpses scavenged, players will no longer receive a negative-effect parasite on startup.
• Fixed an issue where the Ophion boss might disappear after a player uses the Reconstructor during the fight.
• Fixed a rare audio bug causing loud noises during combat.
• Fixed a small number of issues where players might become stuck in various rooms.
• Fixed several issues where the player might encounter a black screen during the credits or whilst playing.
• Multiple fixes for rare crashes during gameplay.

@render Does ‘not appearing as often as intended’ mean ‘not appearing at all’ 😂

@nessisonett I have seen accounts of players finding a deceased scout in versions other than that broken one. So apparently they were just rare as f**k.

@nessisonett @Voltan at the moment there’s less chance of finding a dead scout than finding scout log #9 🤣

I have only seen dead scouts in the daily challenges so far.

Still no log 9. I’m gonna take a couple hours break.

@Voltan So even with no / less ether still no sign?

There has got to be something amiss with the RNG on that one for so many people to not find it. I spent way more time than a lot of people on here and even I haven’t got it.

@render I did 2 runs with low a ether number so that might not be enough. I’ll keep trying. But yeah, considering I also grinded biome 1 when getting things in 2 and 3, definitely no other collectible took nearly this long.

Ready to go back in, this time with a new tactic. Will I find it within the hour?

I've no hope of getting the platinum, but I do dream of getting past biome 3 one day

If you do get to the spot where Log 9 is your only thing left in Biomes 1-3, don't hesitate to ask how to do it efficiently (I found some good advice on Reddit myself)

Edit: forgot to check the total time so I went back and it's been 59 hours and 20 minutes.

@Voltan Will definitely tap you up for that if I manage to whittle it down to just that. Had a night off tonight but will be back on it again tomorrow.

@JigsawPieces I was once in that boat. Took me a while but I managed to break the back of it. It gets easier from there too. I definitely died less in act 2 than I did 1.

@render Thanks for the encouragement! I'm working on improving my movement and grappling about during fights in biome 3, to be able to keep more distance and be less of a sitting duck. Not there yet, but I'm sure it'll click at some point. It was really piling on the drones and damaged automatons last night

@JigsawPieces yeah I agree with @render. Biome 4, boss included, was a real breath of fresh air after hitting that wall in biome 3!

@voltan Oof I’ll be happy with 80 hours for the platinum at this rate.

@Voltan Hitting you up in the Returnal forum thread per your statement. I am definitely looking for some assistance on Scout Log 9, but also any tips on Biome 2 cyphers, because after countless runs i'm still missing like 6 there.
