Sorry if this has already been asked. Does anyone know if the 825gb of storage that the ps5 has is 'baked in'. So if i bought a new nvme ssd drive and put it into my ps5 would i only have the new storage capacity or the new storage capacity plus the 825gb?

@dodds85 Sony has not revealed how much space will be available after the UI and everything is installed yet. My understanding is that you can't replace the internal ssd as it is integral to how the PS5 works. You will be able to buy additional nvme ssd cards which slot into the PS5. Again none of that has been more detailed and I don't think the cards are even on the market yet. Mark Cerny said they would be available by the time the PS5 is out however.

Sony has confirmed that you add to the storage. So your 825 gb drive doesn't get replaced, the PS5 can hold to internal SSDs. So if you buy a compatible 1 tb SSD then your PS5 will have 1.825 tb. The same thing is true for the Xbox Series X and it's memory card.
