I had been using my Ps5 issue free until today that I bought Watch Dogs Legion, I had been playing for probably more than 5 hours when it suddenly got a graphical error and turned itself off, I had to press the power button twice for it turn back on and it said repairing console storage and then “there was an error with system software” ERROR CE-108262-9 then it booted up normally for about 2 minutes then it froze and turned off. It’s been doing this every time I turn it on so it’s basically rendering it unplayable. Is there anyone else with this issue?
I haven’t seen anyone else talking about a the same problem. I will call Sony customer service tomorrow. P.d. It also sometimes says that my ps5 was turned off incorrectly when it just shuts itself off.

I don't know for certain but I suspect hardware failure. Definitely talk to customer service, needing multiple power button presses is something I've seen on PCs with bad motherboards or power supplies. My Xbox One's power supply died in a power surge and had Wi-Fi issues and didn't always power on. It's hard to confirm what is wrong, but I suspect you'll need to do a warranty claim. My Nintendo Switch died shortly after getting it. It needed to be redocked twice for the video to work, and the next day it got super hot by the charging port and died. Probably a capacitor in the charging circuit died and burnt.

I did have what I thought was a monitor that wouldn't stay on when the power strip it was plugged into was 20 years old and had burns on the bottom behind the plug it was plugged into. So I guess as a sanity check you could try a different outlet, but I suspect your PS5 is defective. Ask Sony what they can do, you probably got a bad egg. You might have luck unplugging the console and holding the power button to drain the power supply. If it works after plugging it back in I'd still be skeptical as the power supply may be dying. But this is all guesswork based on my experience, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I don't know about the issues with PS5, but since my PS4 updated earlier today, it's been crashing like crazy. Could the catalyst be the system updates that dropped on both consoles today?
