Yeah I think Sony could have been more transparent with what games are comin out on both systems and not play the 'generations' game. People are right to feel peeved off, but it has been blown up like everything these days it seems. I am disappointed by it, but I'm still buying a console on day 1. Or at least trying to.

Yes. I dont think its 1st party though . That's what it's about. (Medium is also only timed and coming on ps5 I think)

Pre-Order sealed yesterday with Amazon UK for a PS5 Digital Edition, was in my office at work frantically refreshing at ten past 9 for the bloody thing aha!
Very happy with the Digital proposition, I know it restricts me to the PS Store but as someone who's library is already 100% digital it won't bother me too much, and I have a sneaky prediciton that digital games could become the slightly cheaper out of the two this generation, with Sony needing to justify the Digital Edition being a thing.
Either way the price hike doesn't bother me too much as of now, I have a steady job and only buy a few games a month in terms of new releases so I can live with departing with an extra £15-20 for games.
Going to buy Cyberpunk 2077, Miles Morales, FIFA 21 and a Pulse 3D to go alongside my set up this November!
@KidBoruto I think this is a unique case because if anything the games were designed specifically with next-gen in mind but can also be played on last gen systems for those who want that option. It reminds of what they did with Twilight Princess releasing on both GameCube and Wii in a lot of ways
Like yeah Miles Morales and Horizon are going to be on PS4, but they'll probably have none of the enhancements that the current gen version offers like the near-instant load times in Demon's Souls or ray-tracing and support for stuff like individual performance modes at higher resolutions. Those games give me the impression that they're MEANT to be played on PS5 for a more whole experience, but the option is there for those who aren't ready to upgrade yet.

@Kidfried And even then people had to go in with their expectations in check, knowing the Switch version wouldn't look as good given the disparity in power and performance between it and Sony and Microsoft's consoles.
Even then, as a handheld version of a game known for being fairly intensive graphically and visually, DOOM 2016 actually isn't that bad of a port. In fact after all the patches and updates I heard it became really well balanced as a conversion next to the PS4/Xbox One versions.
I still think cross-gen releases are a good way to give the people on last gen systems a taste of what they can experience if they upgrade, while not compromising in any way to make them feel like they're getting a lesser experience, just a toned down one.
I got really lucky pre-ordering my PS5. Found out through Wario64 that Gamestop was taking preorders, so I went on break during training class and was able to snag one w/disc drive. Paid it completely off earlier today. Also put the money down for an additional controller, which I'll get paid off next week. Then I'm planning on stocking up two years of PS Plus and $250 and buying my initial games from that fund.

I think the good news is SSD upgrades will become more affordable and some nice options to choose from as time goes.

@Arugula Some of the sites that I'm monitoring for pre-orders have it listed as 1TB. That could be an error, but the 825gb might be what is usually after the OS and everything.

@Arugula Nope, same here, out of stock everywhere. And I've been trying since straight after the showcase.
Kind of a no win situation with pre-orders at the mo. If you set a time and date in advance you play into the hands of scalpers, if you don't you get criticised for not giving everyone a fair warning.
It's annoying some strange people pay these (swear word) scalpers prices. It's a shame there isn't some scheme where they only sell launch consoles to proper fans. Plus I think all retailers should have been forced to restrict sales to one per person. I think a lot do but I think some didn't.
