Cut to the chase; can an active PS4, and an active PS5 both use the same PlayStation identity??

ie; can a family member still use the PS4 whilst the PS5 is in use?

@80sImporter I currently have my account active on 2 PS4's, one at our summer home (glorified shed in a forest) an aging PS3 and my PS Vita which still gets use for JRPGs and Lumines. They'll be zero problem.

Excellent. Thanks all.

I've actually had the same PSN account since the PS2. I think I originally set up in 2003, when I bought the network adapter and screwed it onto the back of the console.

@80sImporter Do you mean at exactly the same time? Dad's playing on his own account downstairs on the PS4 while little Jimmy plays on dad's account upstairs?

I think that's possible on the PS3 and PS4 but I'd have to double check

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.

You can have an account across generations but I'm pretty sure you can't be logged in to both at the same time. I can't be logged into both of my PS4s at the same time.
