I heard about this a few years ago but everyone talked like it was just some boring walking simulator and very strange. I'm sorta into weird stuff but wow this is some straight trippy bizarre yet intriguing ate up stuff. I'd like to know where Kojima is getting whatever he was on when he came up with this.
Have you played this and did it just make your brain hurt or were you fascinated enough to keep going?
I'm only a little over an hour in but i don't know how I'm feeling yet.
It’s unbelievably good. I replayed again recently in preparation for the sequel and still loved every minute of it.
I have been watching those “what a 1000 hours in ….. looks like” videos for Death Stranding. I’ve played so much and still didn’t realise some of the techniques people use were even possible.
Roll on Death Stranding 2.
35 day, 16 hours, 30 minutes and 17 seconds to go. Haha.
I'm definitely getting a feeling i won't be able to stop Playing it. Already I'm intrigued to the point of wanting to see where it goes. Gotta love Kojima and his totally out there mindset. At first i thought it was nothing but walking around looking ridiculous carrying a ton of crap on your back and nothing else but there actually is bosses and combat. I'll keep going.
When I first started playing in Death Stranding, I also didn’t understand for a long time whether I liked it or not, the game is really strange and not for everyone, especially if you expect standard action. I noticed that it is better not to try to understand every detail of the story from the beginning, otherwise the brain really «burns». By the way, if you want to distract between sessions or just see how others are spending their time, you can check here. There are different ratings, sometimes interesting to read.
@Ulverstonian 100% off topic, but I had been wondering if you were actually from Ulverston, and now with your avatar of the Hoad, I know for sure. Nice picture! I grew up around there, small world!
@Ulverstonian The game is just miserable to play I have no idea what they were smoking. I think Kojima just really wants to make a movie.
The part that ruined it for me (i did put a few hours in) was the length of time it took to get from one place to another why didnt they include transport of some kind even if only a push bike
I have played this game on and off for the last few years. I got to the point where I just watched the cutscenes on Youtube. I feel the delivery system would work better for a shorter 15 to 20 hour experience but the game just keeps on going.
When I started playing, I also had mixed feelings. At first, everything seemed very strange and slow, but then I got interested in trying to figure out what was happening in the world and why things were set up that way. I’ve read that a lot of people feel the same way — at first you don’t really understand what’s going on, then you either get into it or just give up. I think if you like unusual games, it’s worth giving it at least a couple more hours.
