Topic: Horizon Forbidden West

@johncalmc So far I’ve really enjoyed the main story and can’t imagine it being disappointing but good to get clarification. I’m not going to leave those question marks though.

@velio84 I was level 34 (recommended level 35 for the last mission) and I died twice in the final encounter but it wasn't like hard, I was just rubbish. So the recommended level is about right, I would say. Also I was playing on normal. I still had loads of stuff left to do on the map, too, but I wanted to see what was going to happen so I finished it first and I'm doing the clean up after.

The recommended levels do seem about right, however even being a few levels above it doesn't guarantee to be a cakewalk. Last night a did a quest that involved a stalker machine and its gun hit pretty hard (on the other hand, I got lucky and hit its mines with an arrow just as it was launching them, which basically tore it to pieces).
Maybe I should go hunt some specific machines to upgrade my outfits

@velio84 yeah it was, funnily enough I found the Thunderjaw a pushover 🤣

That was quick on GG part to unleash a patch even though I've had no issues yet.

Wow some of you guys are just burning through the game. I'm taking my sweet time. Also set myself the ultimate challenge not to use fast travel, that probably won't last and once I get further into the main story I may just bash on with it, but just enjoying exploring before I head for the next main quest marker!

@Voltan If it's any consolation, I'm nowhere near some others either with my level. I don't remember, but I'm guessing somewhere slightly above 10. I wish I had the many hours a day to play like some do.

The story has taken an interesting turn but one thing Aloy said had me fuming. Spoiler When she first met Gaia and one of the conversations was asking her if she could build an army of machines. Hasn't she learned anything!?

I haven't progressed much after this.

They get destroyed before they get detached and I need one (1) to upgrade a bow to detach widemaw tusks more easily 😫

@velio84 Just got one! Grabbed it and ran away as fast as I could because I was out of medicine lol

Just did Cauldron IOTA and so far it’s been my favourite one. It’s also the first time that I’ve run out of the right elemental ammo as I didn’t check before I went in. Going to have to do some farming now I think.

Anyone found the Shredder Gauntlet useful yet? Even hitting the weak points I just don’t find it does much in the way of if damage which is disappointing as it sounds pretty cool.

I just checked the in game statistics and after 28h I'm at 25.23% completion.
I still have one side quest open in the first tallneck area but it seems I'll need an underwater breathing device to complete it so I guess I'll have to come back later.
In the meantime, I completed (and by completed I mean maxed out) a Hunting Grounds, got my 3rd relic, upgraded some gear, gonna play some more Strike next

One bug that's currently annoying me a little (and it seems to be quite common, according to some reddit comments) is that firegleam markers are re-appearing on the map even though they've already been cleared.
Also there's a machine site that still appears as "unknown" on the map despite me killing the machines and running all around it

@render I kinda like how the gauntlet works but you're right that the damage is not that great on the one I have. There are some skills for it that seem pretty cool so I should probably try that.

Just got all the weapon classes so I’m going to try out these latest few to see if they are any good. Also now I can override more machine types I’ve been setting up some great fights by overriding a machine, riding it into an area full of other machines and then watching them go for it. It’s been handy for parts and just for fun 😀

I was playing HFW last night when my PS5 just shut down by itself. Tried booting it back up but it just kept flashing blue and wouldn't turn on. I've now had to reset the console from safe mode which means I've got to download all my games again. Lost all my photo mode pics too. Balls.

@ApostateMage ****, that’s not good! I’ve had one crash so far but luckily it booted back up fine.
