DPD have just delivered my Collectorās Edition. It comes in beautiful packaging but I was beginning to worry as I couldnāt find the actual game code. Ran out of places to look so unwrapped the steelbook and thankfully the code was in there.
Just waiting on my internet to download 90 Gb now.
@BearsEatBeets I kicked off the download as soon as the PS4 -> PS5 upgrade was available last night then headed to bed. The PS app on my phone chimed just after 1am so only took just over an hour to get that down. Hopefully yours is as snappy or snappier.
resolution is the best way to play it allegedly . iām glad that itās becoming possible not to have to sacrifice beautiful graphics just so a game can be doable ; 30fps is awful nowadays .
@nomither6 Iāve honestly never known 30 frames to seem so smooth⦠to the point that when I actually realised that I was playing in Resolution mode, my first thought was āwhat wizardry is this?!?!ā.
Edit. Also, Rockstar could learn a lot about how a character should control in a third person perspective open world game⦠Aloy controls beautifully.
@render it just finished downloading now, took about 50 minutes. I normally sleep for a few hours on a Friday morning as my working week on nights finishes then so I took that time to have a nap. The gameās menu music/sound works surprisingly well as a relaxation aid.
Just going to make a cuppa then get stuck in.
Resolution mode for me, Iām all about striking visuals. When youāve been gaming since 4 colours on a ZX Spectrum a stable 30fps is perfectly fine with me.
Played for nearly 3 hours and I think I'm still in the tutorial. I love the fact that you now have to specifically harvest the parts that you want from machines instead of just killing and looting them. It makes hunting sooo much better.
The game also looks absolutely gorgeous even in performance mode. Giggity!
All this talk about the game I'm thinking I might play for an hour at lunchtime. Then the only thing will be stopping so that I get some more work done!
@colonelkilgore I believe you have to shoot specific parts off a "corpse" (or while the machine is still alive and kicking for that matter) if you want to pick them up? Obviously haven't played it yet.
@Voltan@colonelkilgore Having watched my wife play this recently I feel I should know for sure but I think how it worked was that while you could shoot specific parts off of some machines that only extended to things like weapons e.g. the cannons on the thunderjaw. If you wanted to harvest parts for crafting you had to kill the machine first in order to loot it.
@render right, that makes sense as I vividly remember taking some sort of heavy artillery off a Thunderjaw and then using it to dispatch the beastly-bot.
@colonelkilgore If you kill a machine outright, the rare and epic parts of it will be destroyed. You have to target specific parts of a machine that detach and can be looted separately to get the rare parts.
