I thought the game controlled/played extremely well, the shooting was a personal high light if I'm being honest, my biggest gripe are the drving sections as they just on rails, not sure how they could improve on them, maybe make more routes?

It may be just my experience but they haven't gone overkill on ammunition I always seem to run out and have to back track to find discarded guns, this again is a big plus for me as it stops you running round like a headless chicken firing endlessly.

Just going to leave this here for no reason 👀

Sometimes people feel a bit 'try hard' with their complaints, I find.

Can someone explain the TacSim thing without giving spoilers as am considering FL next week.

From what I gather Tac-Sim is an 'in-universe' (in-gameworld) VR facility that uses previous mission data to reconstruct maps so that you and other agents can train by completing objectives with altered enemy density, placements, weapon load-outs and gadgets etc.

For the player it is a way to replay missions, experiment and do things differently with alternate routes, load-outs, altered rules, different levels of enemies, etc, I think.

It isn't something that I usually look to do in games, but it is probably for people that like the new Hitman games and will, I assume, work in a similar way to those sandbox replays the hitman games have.

@Bell_412 Yeah, I do. Actually a huge fan of IO games and this sort of game but I feel that none of the elements are done better than the games it's clearly trying to replicate.

Obviously having only completed 25% i cannot comment on the full game but so far the ledge shuffling and climbing has taken up little of my in game time and its inclusion is definitely a plus not a minus.

@Oram77 Give the cars more traction and play more with the cameras (use shaky cams, allow more environmental distruction etc). It's nuts that no car section has beaten Uncharted 4's Madagascar chase yet. First Lights vehicular sections feel static in that regard.

cainhurst94

Oram77

@cainhurst94 Naughty Dog cooked with that section. I know there is a lot of comparisons between the two franchises but yes First Light really could have done with something like that. The boat chase is truly just a sad state of affairs in my humble opinion

I am now 50% in and its still great, I have had to use a guide a couple of times to get through some areas but i am not getting stuck too often that it spoils the game.

I finished the campaign last night.
Great game, I pretty much have no complaints at all.

Will have to play again with a guide if I want the platinum (gotta find all collectibles - I got about half).
I'll check out TacSim tonight.

@Voltan Beat First Light last night as well. I think it's a solid 8/10 maybe 8.5. I think the final mission is weak and the car sequences aren't very good. Sadly I also had the game crash when I was chasing the final boss. The story and performances are amazing! Infiltration missions are incredibly fun and, it moves at a good clip.

@cainhurst94 I didn't mind the final mission. Using all the stuff in the lab was pretty fun.
Driving sequences were definitely not the highlights but they weren't too long so it's fiiiiiine.

Voltan

Oram77

@cainhurst94 @Voltan The driving section definitely feel under cooked, trying to think which 007 had the best driving sections, Agent under fire maybe?

Welp, looks like at least one trophy is bugged. Did not "Keep Moving Forward" didn't pop for me when I achieved clearance level 3 in tacsim

cainhurst94

@Oram77 I remember Everything or Nothing having some really good ones where you chased JAWS.

cainhurst94

Werehog

@Oram77 @cainhurst94 I'm a little late to this party but yes, just adding my two pence that both Agent Under Fire and Everything or Nothing have the best driving levels. Quite how Agent Under Fire managed to make two open city maps containing multiple routes and objectives feel so cinematic, with its enemy vehicles and set-pieces triggered at just the right moments, still amazes me to this day!

@Voltan Hopefully your trophy isn't still bugged. I have seen mention elsewhere that some of the TacSim trophies didn't pop when they were supposed to, but then eventually did after a couple more rounds, almost like there's a bit of lag in the game registering their requirements.

cainhurst94

@THEBrew it features the motif very often. But i will not say more than it's an origin story for 007.

cainhurst94

Voltan

@Werehog I haven't really tried. I saw there was a patch yesterday, I'll check out the patch notes and see if there was anything connected to that.

edit: it doesn't mention this trophy but it does mention all the ones related to collectibles - so I guess I may try to get that platinum now.
And yes, I did see people mention the tacsim trohpy popping later than it should.

Voltan

Aaaaaand that's platinum.

The collectible hunt was easier than expected, thanks to being able so select any checkpoint in chapter select.
The missing tac sim trophy popped randomly (I think I may have completed some kind of story level challenge at the time but I'm not sure).
Overall very achievable plat

Finished the game tonight and I have to say there wasn't anything that I didn't like about it, the driving was a little iffy but as I have said I am rubbish at driving games so it didn't put me off at all, I will definitely buy the next one.
