From IO Interactive, the developers of the Hitman series, comes the first non-mobile James Bond game since 2012's disastrous 007 Legends.
In this cinematic third-person stealth action adventure, Patrick Gibson portrays Bond as a young recruit, heading up a cast which includes Priyanga Burford, Lennie James, Alastair Mackenzie, Kiera Lester, Gemma Chan, Noémie Nakai, and Lenny Kravitz. The soundtrack is composed by The Flight, with the original title song "First Light" performed by Lana Del Rey and co-written by David Arnold.
Thought I'd create somewhere separate to ramble, so as not to clog up the general topics.
Anybody else here planning on playing this at launch?

I have it ordered.
I never played any of the Hitman games as I didn’t think they were my kinda thing - but I think mixing these “sandbox immersive sim” segments with more linear action and story may work well for me
@Werehog I’m quite excited to hear impressions of the game. I’m not going to jump in at launch, but this is a game I’ll likely have in the waiting for some time in the future. If it reviews well and gets good buzz then then it might be sooner rather than later!
I didn’t click with Hitman as much as you and many others did, but this game seems like a nice shift from IO towards a more story driven action game approach which will be more up my alley. Are you hoping that the Hitman DNA is kept strong or are you going in with expectations of a linear experience?

I'm literally about to watch Rob from Access play the the first couple of hours. I know it will spoil the start but I'm on the fence about getting it so it might help sway me.
EDIT: After watching I thought it looks pretty slick. It succeeded in increasing the likelihood of me getting it.
Yes, fingers crossed it'll be a late birthday gift. 😁 I love Bond (and Hitman) and this looks like it'll tick all the boxes! I'm almost tempted to get the Wii out and play a bit of Everything or Nothing in anticipation, but it's too hot to exert that kind of effort. 🥵
It is the perfect summer blockbuster type of game, and hopefully everyone here playing it on launch enjoys it. I will be picking this one up sometime after I've taken the PS5 out of the freezer, I think!
But from the moment they showed a sandbox level that reminded me of Untitled Goose Game I've been hoping this would be a fun Bond game with some scope to mess about with the enemy AI, so i'm glad it seems to be reviewing well and is worth a purchase 😄
I’ll also be picking this one up, just not right at launch. I’ve gone pretty hard on a slew of games this year so far. It looks great though. I’ll be back when I fire it up. Enjoy 😊

@Metonymy Tell me about it, so far I have bought RE9, Fatal Frame 2, Pragmata, Saros and now 007, with still MORE to come!! if people say this year is bad for games then they are a lost cause in my book...
157 platinums and counting...

@Metonymy@Oram77 - I was just thinking earlier that I’ve been buying a lot more new games than I usually do (in my case, everything Oram listed minus Fatal Frame), and that’s largely due to how many interesting, good games we’ve been getting.
As for the game itself, anyone had a chance to try it out yet? I’ve made a start, just finished the prologue and training missions and so far it’s been pretty good. Very much what you’d expect from a good Bond flavoured blockbuster game, nothing new, but a nice mix of Hitman and Uncharted, thrown in a Bond tuxedo. Interested to see how things go now I’ve started the game proper; hopefully the game opens up a little more, but I’ll see how I go.
I have completed one mission so far and really liking it, the writing is just pure bond and I love it! the controls are good except maybe the driving which is a little wobbly. The game has ran perfectly even during hectic scenes, I had one crash and it was testing a gadget in Q-lab which was very strange.
@Oram77 The driving has really stuck out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the game.
It makes me appreciate Uncharted 4 which had the jeep for maybe one and a half chapter and it still feels incredible after all these years.
I have to say I am surprised by how good the game is in the opening hours. IOI really got the tone of this charming but uncouth Bond right. Really looking forward to playing more when I get home!
Turns out my physical pre-order also got upgraded to the deluxe edition, which I guess is nice - even though I don’t really intend to use any of the costumes (maybe for the post-game things)
