My copy of Crash Team Racing arrived today. It feels good to have a physical preorder arrive on time for once. I've been eager to play a fun non-serious racing game, so I'll get started on it tonight if I'm feeling awake enough after a long day of work.
Picked up my copy of Crash Team Racing. Just got a few races in and yeah it's still as much fun as I remember. There's a reason it's in my top 3 for this genre with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Diddy Kong Racing.
I just impulse bought Bloodstained, not in love with the look of it to be honest but the reviews have been hot so we’ll see. I did think it’d be sub £20, mind you.
I went to the shop to buy CTR but instead picked up Kingdom Hearts 3. I've only played bits of the previous games and never understood or cared for the overriding story but always liked the concept.
@kyleforrester87 I bought that a few days ago but I really like the look of it, some areas definitely look much better than others but I'm a sucker for the Castlevania look. I've played for 3 or 4 hours and its definitely one of the best games I've played this year.
Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.
@carlos82 sounds good - I do love the whole metroidvania thing (Axiom Verge is one of my favourite games) but I kinda got bored of Hollow Knight after initially enjoying it a lot. I’m not trusting my initial impressions of games recently lol
@kyleforrester87 yeah Hollow Knight isn't one I stuck with, this though reminds me of Symphony of the Night in so many ways and there's more than a few nods to it

@carlos82 looking forward to giving it a go. As for KH, it’s always a series I’ve liked the idea of too but I’ve not managed to clear any of the main instalments lol. They are fun enough but also very WTF?
@kyleforrester87 Yeah I like the look of Bloodstained too. Loved Axiom Verge as well, I do like a Metroidvania game now and again. Let us know how you get on!
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

@RogerRoger and @KALofKRYPTON Yes, mate, I well and truly took the limited release bait after their E3 2019 Showcase by not only ordering PS4 versions of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter and Freedom Planet from Limited Run Games, but I also ended up heading over to Strictly Limited Games to order PS4 The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors.
I didn't try to buy region free Game Boy Star Wars from Limited Run, but I'm still interested in keeping my eye out for when The Empire Strikes Back gets a sealed card release, especially since the Game Boy is region free. Understandably, I will be taking a rest from buying limited release games for a little while now, though. On the other hand, I only went for the standard editions of each game.
I'm really pleased that you managed to find decent internet access to order the Premium Edition you wanted too, because when I saw your profile picture in the comments section for Crash Team Racing, I had a feeling that you would be looking forward to a physical PS4 copy of Bounty Hunter.
Nice one!
I am passionate about retro gaming, from antiquated consoles to the continuation of classics. Obviously I love PSone, and PS2 retro games. I blast my ears to breakneck melodic punk, gruff vocals and nimble alternative guitar hooks.
@RogerRoger Mice one! Glad you snagged a copy - as I said, despite the general perception. LRG stuff is usually easy enough to get so long as you turn up on time!
The Bounty Hunter steelbook does look really nice.
@JamieO Let us know how Ninja Saviors is. I love Ninja Warriors on the Amiga and saw SLG advertising the new one on fb last week - but I'm a little skeptical about the game itself.
PSN: KALofKRYPTON (so you can see how often I don't play anything!)

I finally used some of my birthday vouchers. I ended up getting some PSN credit, and I used it to get two things:
Battle Chef Brigade Deluxe - a game I've wanted to try for a while
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - a game I've been putting off for years
The first is something I've always liked the look of, and I've had it recommended to me by a friend. It's a strange mix of quick combat and match-three puzzling, contextualised by cooking, with a narrative and character focus on top. It sounds bizarre, but I'm definitely curious to try it out for myself.
As for The Witcher, well... I've seen it in sales on the PS Store so many times, and at significantly reduced prices too. Obviously, everyone loves the damn thing, and despite being intimidated by the size and scope of the game, I thought it was time I at least take it for a spin. Over the last few years, I've become less and less interested in huge, 100-hour adventures, so this will be the first one I've played in a while. I can't guarantee I'll finish it, but I'm interested to see what all the fuss is about.
@Quintumply I had a similar approach to Witcher 3, in that I had heard and read so much about it and the omnipresence of the game on top 10 lists made me feel obligated to try it. I’ll be curious what you think. For me, after 5 or so hours of it I recognized it to be a great game, just now is not the time in my life to commit to the length of it. It didn’t quite sink it’s teeth into me fully, but I expect I eventually will go back to it when my mind is right for it. It is a little anti-climactic for those of us playing it late, because so many recent games have used its basic formula, so it will probably seem less groundbreaking to you. But we’ll see.

@Th3solution Another reason I bought it is to get a feel for CD Projekt RED's design, writing, etc. before I sink my teeth into Cyberpunk. I know they're going to be very different overall, but I want to know what makes a CD Projekt game a CD Projekt game.
I fear I may only get a few hours into the game as well, but I'd really like to at least complete the main story! I've not made a start yet, but I'll let you know how I get on.
@Quintumply I hope you enjoy TW3. The combat can be pretty ropy but that’s not what makes the game so special. I do wonder how it’s aged already as I sometimes feel the urge to replay it but am also worried about ruining how fondly I think of it.
Also, don’t neglect Gwent as that’s the best in-game card game since FF8.
