@LN78 as someone who has grown to quite appreciate the SuperGiant gameplay, I’m intrigued to see how they tackle sports. Pyre has always been the SuperGiant game I’ve been least interested in as I generally don’t think much of sports games… my interest has definitely grown though since playing their first two.
Personally I didn't enjoy Bastion all that much, apart from the end game challenge. Loved Hades and am looking forward to getting around to Transistor.
Exactly the same sentiment as Sol regarding Pyre, couldn't get exited around a weird sounding made up sport despite the mostly positive reviews. May have to reconsider depending on how I get on with Transistor.
“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.”
@LN78 yeah I’ll definitely be playing it at some point, I picked all three games up in a sale around the same time that Hades released. I’ll try and remember to tag you once I make a start on it 👍
@colonelkilgore@Jimmer-jammer I am currently playing through Dark Souls Remastered again on a break from/in preparation for more of my Elden Ring playthrough, I just cheesed the Centipede Demon and am now on my way to the infamous Bed of Chaos and then it's only Lord Gwyn to beat before I usher in the dark (I restored the fire on my first playthrough) How are your games going? Have you both beaten Elden Ring yet?
"Preoccupied with a single leaf, you won’t see the tree. Preoccupied with a single tree, you’ll miss the entire forest. Don't be preoccupied with a single spot. See everything in its entirety...effortlessly. That is what it means...to truly "see." "
@TheBrandedSwordsman hey buddy been a while… yeah I finished it around two weeks ago. Phenomenal game! I played the PS4 version, so am looking forward to playing the PS5 version in a year or so.
Hopefully you won’t be suffering any burn-out going straight into Elden Ring off of the back of your latest Dark Souls run… can’t wait to here what you think.
@Thrillho well after i finished playing the witcher 3 like a year and a half ago (the base game i mean) i felt like i want more, so i went on and bought hearts of stone as well as blood and wine, started playing other games (you know how it's), and now when i felt like i need to get back to the witcher i thought i'd start with hearts of stone first, but after finishing it the plan is to start blood and wine.
@TheNomadLad Heart of Stone is a great story but Blood and Wine just had some great comedic moments, introduced some fun new character (or re-introduced some old ones if you had played the previous games), but also had one of my favourite sequences of the whole game towards the end.
I also played them both a long time after finishing the base game so it took me a while to get back into things with my end-game character, and particularly because they had introduced enemy scaling at the point too!
@Thrillho yea i'm really enjoying the story of Hearts of Stone and how i found myself rooting for the "villain" at some point after i've thought i really hated the guy.
But i heard that Blood and Wine allows us to buy a house and decorate it and stuff, i dunno if i should be excited about this or not though, guess i'll have to wait and see after i finish Hearts of Stone.
@Z390 I don't know about Nioh 2, but i can't imagine it's any easier than Nioh 1.
Sad story, i can't get past Onryoki in Nioh 1
I'm really bad at this i guess.
I can't believe i'm thinking about deleting the game again.
Congrats on the Ghostwire… plat @Lavalera, how was it? I quite like the look of the game myself but I don’t know if it’s worth me re-jigging the schedule to fit it in.
@colonelkilgore Thanks m8. It's a hit or miss game. That was also visible in the review scores which were all over the place. I can understand the criticism that the combat can feel much of the same after a while, but that didn't really bother me at all. The charm for me was the whole Japanese folklore setting. Everything in that game you encounter is based on Japanese folklore and that's what made the game interesting for me. What i liked most was running around collecting stuff, trying to sneak on the baddies and killing them that way or just avoiding them all together and stroll around on the rooftops collecting spirits.
If you don't really want to trophy it, the story can be done in like 15-20 hours, which in my opinion is a bit short to pay full price for. But with the platinum it took me about 70 hours to complete it.
So it's all about if you like strolling around in a world collecting stuff or not.
If you're on the fence about it or don't have time for it now, maybe wait for a sale later on then, since this game won't resonate with everyone i can understand it's a risk to pay full price for.
@Lavalera cheers for the infodump. It sounds like some crazy Japanese supernatural version of Farcry… which would be good as far as I’m concerned, as I quite like the Farcry games.
Just wandering around cleaning up the riddles in Arkham Knight before I go off to confront Scarecrow. It may take me a while. I have to say though, the Season of Infamy DLC missions were really great and the way they seamlessly slot into a normal playthrough works wonders. I just wish I didn’t have to do New Game + in order to get the platinum, at this rate it’ll be the only trophy I need!
@nessisonett Are you playing the version that comes with the PS Plus Collection? Just wondering if that comes with the DLC included. If I give the game another try then it will be through the Collection as I sold back my copy of the game.
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
@Th3solution No, I think I got it on PS Plus a few years back already so I’m not sure if that had the DLC included or if I picked it up for cheap in a sale along the way.
Started playing Judgment yesterday after getting a craving for some Yakuza. The game feels very familiar as a Yakuza player but the structure of the story is completely different and it honestly feels like a realistic version of Ace Attorney. You take on murder cases, investigate by talking with people and gathering evidence, submit evidence sometimes in order to progress and so on. I didn't expect the structure to be this different but it's quite refreshing actually. Sadly, it doesn't seem like there's much to do in Kamurocho as a lot of places aren't accessible, such as karaoke. And you're doing a lot of running around in this game, so I do have to wonder if it'll manage to keep my interest up 10-20 hours into the playthrough.
All in all though, I am enjoying my time with Judgment but it remains to be seen if the game will open up more later on and if I'll still be doing the same things in each chapter.
