I tried the Spongebob game from PS Plus but it didn't blow me away. I might give it another try (like make it to a boss fight or something) but probably won't stick with it.
Started the Sega Megadrive Classics collection today… and it’s pretty cool. As a guys whose teenage years were dominated by the Megadrive it was awesome. I’d begun gearing up for the Saturn (which I promptly returned for a PlayStation) by the time some of the games were released, so it was nice to get a chance to play the treasure games for instance.
The whole, teenagers bedroom vibe when selecting the games from the collection was a really nice touch too I thought. A really cool day filled with nostalgia.
@LN78 I really enjoyed my time with Max Payne 3. I'm a bit indifferent if there were to be a remaster though. And I wonder if there is found to be a new game, will it be the style of the first two game, the third one, or something new entirely.
I'm one of the weird ones that didn't mind the batmobile sections in Arkham Knight @nessisonett. At the start it was a bit of a pain, but once I upgraded it a load, I didn't find it too bad. Plus I thought the Firefly sections were brilliant.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@RogerRoger About 90% of the game so far has been driving about shooting things in the Batmobile! I actually quite enjoy the vehicle combat as it’s a throwback to the early 00s in many ways but it’s quite jarring. There’s something specifically about the way you shoot a disrupter at the thugs’ cars by driving close behind them until it’s fully charged that really reminds me of 007 Racing and the car bits in games like Nightfire.
Arkham Knight being as good as it is has caught me completely off guard. I’d heard so many mixed opinions over the years that I’d put off playing it until now. There are just so many little improvements that go a long way and the way the sidequests are structured is really great with how open-ended it is. While I love how enclosed Arkham Asylum is, and somewhat dislike how annoying Arkham City’s world is to navigate, this game actually feels like an open world Batman game done right.
@nessisonett Totally agreed. I've been annoyed for years by how people completely dismissed Knight's numerous improvements over City as an open world experience just because they didn't like the Batmobile being integrated into the gameplay.
Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition
@avatarian yeah the story isn't that great, but the puzzles and the boss fights made it well worth my time. I actually enjoyed it a lot. At first i was afraid it was to "cutesy" for me, but after playing it for a bit it isn't as "cutesy" as it looks sometimes haha.
Everything is cute in Kena, until it isn't cute anymore: That first boss was so rogue-like it made me question if the controller was properly paired with the console. My girl just moved in slow-motion, and took every hit straight on.
@avatarian I learned that if a boss in Kena is getting you so frustrated that you aren't enjoying the game anymore, just drop the difficulty down to Easy. The first boss frustrated me so much that I stopped playing the game for a little while, but then went back to it and set it on Easy for just the boss fights and enjoyed the game much more.

@avatarian Lol, that is the philosophy of some people. I don't need to pat myself on the back after dying 50 times just to feel a sense of accomplishment. I'd rather just have fun and actually enjoy the game/story.
I'm glad you were able to move on and start enjoying it again. That's what matters.

Think that’s me past the halfway point of Arkham Knight if the main story percentage is to be believed. Polished off a couple of the sidequests as well, which were both great. Loved how much more layered Two-Face/Harvey Dent was in this game even if he was relegated to a sidequest rather than the main story. His presence in Arkham City was basically just the Two-Face persona whereas in this one there was way more of a struggle between the two sides of his personality. The Azrael sidequest was also really interesting, especially the way they give you a choice regarding the ending. He’s definitely an interesting character and it’s a bit of a shame that Gotham Knights isn’t set in the Arkhamverse as I’d love to see him team up with the Bat-Family properly.
I finally got back to the witcher 3 to play hearts of stone, i jump in borderlands 3 every now and then when i just wanna shoot stuff without sweating, just finished the story section of ghost of tsushima legends, getting my dailies in dbd, as well as some fifa 22 , and a few apex matches. so basically nothing big except maybe the witcher 3 dlc.
@KilloWertz i couldn't agree with you more. Whenever i see things like "challenging" or "soulslike" in a description i always look up if i can change the difficulty setting if needed. If i can't i usually skip the game. Dying over and over again isn't fun for me. Stuff like Kena and Strangers of Paradise FInal fantasy origins for instance, have that type of gameplay but i enjoyed very much since i was able to lower the difficiulty when i was stuck or got the feeling i was getting frustrated.
@nessisonett I’ve been interested in your Arkham Knight thoughts. Seems you have been pleasantly surprised with the game. I’ve been meaning to go back to it after only making it through the first few hours until I dropped off.
I noticed that Arkham Knight charted recently in top PSN downloads for the month and I wondered why in the world that would happen until I remembered that The Batman was in theaters. Same thing happened to Witcher 3 sales after the Netflix show aired. Theses movies and TV shows basically double as advertisements for the associated games. No wonder Sony is trying to pump out a The Last of Us PS5 remaster to accompany the forthcoming TV show. It will sell like hotcakes.
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
@Th3solution I was a little taken aback at first by the Batmobile being such a huge part of the game but it honestly just acts like an extension of Batman’s moveset in the way it feeds into the Riddler puzzles and traversal. It’s similar to the upgrades you’d get in the older games like the line launcher. I think that was the main complaint for most people so it does feel like a bit of an underrated game.
