@TheNomadLad Have you played Blood and Wine for Witcher 3?

If not, that’s also well worth finding time to play too as it’s a great parody of medieval tropes, and a nice finish to Geralt’s story too.

@nessisonett @RogerRoger @Th3solution Yep, Ness totally nails it with the explanation of the bat mobile implementation in Arkham Knight, and the issues were greatly overstated I found.

Started Transistor and probably a couple of hours in now, seems decent. I’m definitely enjoying the opening sections more than those of Bastion and the overall cyberpunk theme is a much better fit for the SuperGiant Games aesthetic. I’m thinking that i’m gonna be considering it a real quality indie by the time that I’m done.

@Fragile yeah I struggled to click with Bastion also. After sticking with it, I did eventually understand the praise though… but Transistor is definitely a bit more instantly gratifying.

Anti-Matter

Stranded Sails
Crayola Scoot
These games are pretty confusing in term of control, but i tried to adapt with the gameplay.

@colonelkilgore I had middling feelings about Transistor, and although parts of it were really well done, overall I wasn’t in love with it. The talking sword was pretty annoying and something about his voice performance grated on me and might have ruined a lot of it for me.

Apparently Hades has really upped SuperGiant’s game, but I can’t help but be reluctant.

@Th3solution yeah I’m looking forward to Hades… but I wanted to play the back catalogue first before getting to it. Judging by my feelings about Bastion by the time I finished it and by what I’m thinking about Transistor so far, I think I’m gonna love it.

I do find personal taste so interesting though. I mean, we generally seem to like a lot of the same games but there’ll always be a variance between individuals and maybe the SuperGiant games are a difference for our likes/dislikes. No game is for everyone though… so who knows, I might end up hating Pyre and Hades.

@LN78 No, I never played it, but I heard good things about Pyre too. I never seriously considered it because when I looked into it the description of the game seemed odd. Couldn’t wrap my head around the fictional sport based setting. I need to watch some gameplay to get better idea.

@LN78 as someone who has grown to quite appreciate the SuperGiant gameplay, I’m intrigued to see how they tackle sports. Pyre has always been the SuperGiant game I’ve been least interested in as I generally don’t think much of sports games… my interest has definitely grown though since playing their first two.

Personally I didn't enjoy Bastion all that much, apart from the end game challenge. Loved Hades and am looking forward to getting around to Transistor.
Exactly the same sentiment as Sol regarding Pyre, couldn't get exited around a weird sounding made up sport despite the mostly positive reviews. May have to reconsider depending on how I get on with Transistor.

@LN78 yeah I’ll definitely be playing it at some point, I picked all three games up in a sale around the same time that Hades released. I’ll try and remember to tag you once I make a start on it 👍

@colonelkilgore @Jimmer-jammer I am currently playing through Dark Souls Remastered again on a break from/in preparation for more of my Elden Ring playthrough, I just cheesed the Centipede Demon and am now on my way to the infamous Bed of Chaos and then it's only Lord Gwyn to beat before I usher in the dark (I restored the fire on my first playthrough) How are your games going? Have you both beaten Elden Ring yet?

@TheBrandedSwordsman hey buddy been a while… yeah I finished it around two weeks ago. Phenomenal game! I played the PS4 version, so am looking forward to playing the PS5 version in a year or so.

Hopefully you won’t be suffering any burn-out going straight into Elden Ring off of the back of your latest Dark Souls run… can’t wait to here what you think.

@Thrillho well after i finished playing the witcher 3 like a year and a half ago (the base game i mean) i felt like i want more, so i went on and bought hearts of stone as well as blood and wine, started playing other games (you know how it's), and now when i felt like i need to get back to the witcher i thought i'd start with hearts of stone first, but after finishing it the plan is to start blood and wine.

Nioh 2, best souls like game ever

Lavalera

After getting the platinum on Ghostwire Tokyo this weekend, i decided to play Ys 8: lacrimosa of Dana. A fun action JRPG.

PSNid: Lavalera

Thrillho

@Z390 I really enjoyed the first game but had no interest in the second one so I’m glad to hear you think it’s even better!

@TheNomadLad Heart of Stone is a great story but Blood and Wine just had some great comedic moments, introduced some fun new character (or re-introduced some old ones if you had played the previous games), but also had one of my favourite sequences of the whole game towards the end.

I also played them both a long time after finishing the base game so it took me a while to get back into things with my end-game character, and particularly because they had introduced enemy scaling at the point too!

TheNomadLad

@Thrillho yea i'm really enjoying the story of Hearts of Stone and how i found myself rooting for the "villain" at some point after i've thought i really hated the guy.
But i heard that Blood and Wine allows us to buy a house and decorate it and stuff, i dunno if i should be excited about this or not though, guess i'll have to wait and see after i finish Hearts of Stone.

@Z390 I don't know about Nioh 2, but i can't imagine it's any easier than Nioh 1.
Sad story, i can't get past Onryoki in Nioh 1
I'm really bad at this i guess.
I can't believe i'm thinking about deleting the game again.
