Well I just picked up this game yesterday (I know I am slow) and I have to agree there is alot to do in this game. I can see where some people would be overwhelmed with this game if it was for my years of playing World of Warcraft, I would feel overwhelmed. But because of how much there is to do its why I am enjoying it. This game feels like it can be my WoW replacement. At this point though I am still new (maybe played it for 2 hours) so I can't really say. But so far I managed to spend the last hour just wondering around gathering ore and roots and actually enjoyed it.

@Tasuki: It's a great game and my friend and I played it at the same time but I put in 70 hours and he put in closer to 100. I never felt overwhelmed by it as it's broken up into world segments that you can explore fully without feeling the world is too big. My only gripe about the game is the ending...other than that it's up there with one of my favourite games.

Unsure how this thread made a comeback - but as its been brought back, what's better Witcher 3 or Dragon Age?

I'd agree with Forrester, The Witcher is a far better game in my opinion. DA:I is good but gets really repetitive near the end I thought. Witcher is amazeballs
So started Dragon Age Inquisition today enjoying it and the story. I am just a couple of hours in and I am getting wrecked when I am trying to do some of the rifts. I thought I would liberate some of the camps first and then do some rifts. I have not progressed hardly any of the main story. Do I need to be progressing more of the main story before tryng the rifts?
I liked DA Inquisition but The Witcher 3 is on another level. It's a shame because BioWare used to be the masters of storytelling and lore in their games.
I am also a bit late for that game but hell its so damn good - I did play the first one but I havent played the second one (due to bad reviews and the demo back then) - the characters and the presentation of the story is pretty good, but what really gets me going is exporation and the battle system: the environments are just stunning and a hell lot of fun to just explore and wander around and battles are flashy and complex at the same time - the game is very polished and plays fluidly, not too long loading times in between too. I personally would complain about the Loot (idk but its mostly garbage LOL), the somewhat "shallow" story (not as personal and capturing as it could be - but tense and interesting never the less!), some camera annoyances and a few bugs (loading textures and strange things with character models sometimes). Oh and hell yes theres tons to do in DA, it really is a bit overwhelming haha but its all so greatly implemented in the exploration that its just a hell lot of fun to discover new areas, quests and do standard collectible-quests at the same time - its rewarding and you cant stop playin
Id also honestly not compare it too much to The Witcher, Geralts Adventure is more of a "pure" solo game, whereas in DA you have an Avatar Character you can fully customize, a full party - well and can also play in Coop online.
The Witcher 3 may be the overall more polished and "better" game (Storywise, Gameworld, Fighting, Quest Design), but were talkin about DA here guys, I guess theres a topic for Witcher too on this site
Oh and NOONE EVER mentioned how freakin amazing and breathtaking those DRAGONS in DA are - oh ma god! ^^
Dragon Age Origins is a fantastic game so I wanted to play DA. I have the Witcher 3 as well. For me I expect different experiences from the games the same reason why I do not just play one FPS or one puzzle game or only one MMO. Every game takes you on a different journey.
I found that with dragon age inquisition it's best to play the game like you would in real life. If the world is falling apart you wouldn't put saving it on hold to do a few side quests. Focus on the main story. Doing sidequests to get enough power to do the main story missions (makes sense if you've played far enough into the game). All of the areas are designed for you to return to so will have higher tier enemies in certain parts of the map. You can focus on doing everything after the story missions and before the last dlc mission. Only thing I'd really focus on during the game are missions related to your companions as that deepens the story.
I've plaid both dragon age and the witcher and I like both for different reasons. Dragon age is more fantasy based whereas witcher 3 although still fantasy feels more grounded. Both pull it of really well
