@RogerRoger I think I'm more in the minority in regards to the PS4 remake. Obviously it's a lot easier to play than the actual PS2 original as it incorporates the gameplay advancements that the series experienced, but the latter part of the remake frustrated me enough that it at least partially ruined the experience for me. Granted I'd take middling Ratchet & Clank still over a lot of other games, and I'm not saying you won't enjoy it a lot more than I did, as obviously mileage varies.

I still have a lot of the series left to play as I haven't played anything outside of the PS3 games and so on (I dabbled in the PS3 remaster of the original), but I do suggest playing Rift Apart whenever you feel the price is right. It was good enough that I really hope Sony doesn't make it a routine now where we only get one Ratchet & Clank game per generation (the remake was it last gen).

@LtSarge The first Spidey is also the only game I've gotten the platinum on (minus the cheating Telltale games), so if the sequel is anything like that I'm sure it was a breeze! Especially compared to what came before, haha. A nice reward for your previous suffering. Hope next time you might be able to break loose from the completionist urge when the game is not deserving of it.

Platinum #51 - Marvel's Spirder-Man 2
Not much to say other than idk how people are saying it's a 25h plat. Took me significantly longer, maybe because I used fast travel like 3 times total.

Anyway, great game, enjoyed every bit. It teases at least a couple character appearances for DLC so I hope that gets announced soonish.

@KilloWertz Sony do seem to be spacing out their first-party exclusives of late, but you're right, it'd be a shame if we have to wait for the PlayStation 6 before any of these characters are allowed to continue. I guess that's one benefit to waiting on Rift Apart (if I play it late, the gap between it and the next one will be a lot shorter... and funnily enough, that's what's happened to me with Insomniac's other series) but I get that the realities of game development have changed significantly in recent years, so it's never gonna be the same as that glorious PS2 / PS3 era, when annual releases were commonplace.

And hey, regarding the first remake, each to their own. Nothing can please everyone. I'm sorry to read that it ended up frustrating you in its second half. If memory serves, I became so focused on its platinum that I just kinda barrelled through, and so can't remember many specifics beyond "I had fun".

@Voltan Welcome to the Spider-Team! Real glad you enjoyed it so much!

@RogerRoger The case of Ratchet & Clank does seem to be a bit different than just game development or Sony's spacing of their exclusives being the culprit though. It seems more like Sony wanting them to make Marvel games, which I do love too, and that Ratchet & Clank ends up being a casualty because of that. I wonder if we would have gotten a Ratchet & Clank game at all on the PS4 if they didn't make the animated movie.

I'm loving Spider-Man 2, the original was one of my favorite exclusives from last gen, and I'll end up really looking forward to Wolverine once the hype starts up. They should be able to make a Ratchet & Clank game along with that though, as you wouldn't think Insomniac would be a small studio incapable of developing multiple games at a time given their success and length of time with Sony.

Not too bad a list but picking up all the priorite shards was a bit of a pain, particularly as it's not always clear if you've going to get one of those or a different type of collectible. Most of the rest were fairly organic for me, I just needed a guide to find a few tears I'd missed.

@Bentleyma Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't that game come out yesterday?

@Bentleyma Ah. Still for a 15 - 20hr campaign that's fast work. My copy is on its way from Shopto! What came with the expensive version except early access?

@LN78 I have 2 weeks off work, so plenty of time to game! I’m not entirely sure what else came with it. I only paid the extra for the early access. I think it was some RoboCop and weapon skins.

@Bentleyma So not a season pass or anything, then. I can't wait to play it later!

@LN78 Just had a look.

Looks like I was right and it’s just skins.

Hopefully you’ll like it. Just don’t go into it expecting something amazing and you should enjoy it.

@Bentleyma I've seen/read a few reviews so I think I've got a fair idea of what to expect. The first movie is in my all time Top 10 so I'm pretty excited - the last decent Robocop game was on the Megadrive!

@KilloWertz Yeah, given their output in recent years, Insomniac do seem to be a well-supported developer, one with multiple studios working on multiple projects. I'm sure that Ratchet & Clank are always on their minds, even if those minds are part of the C-Team, beneath Spidey and Wolverine. As huge as the Marvel games are for them, PlayStation will always want them working on something 100% first-party, because they'll get greater rewards from an I.P. that sits outside of a shared licencing deal.

@Thrillho Great work on Jedi: Survivor which agreed, much like the first game, has a pleasant platinum for the most part. The post-story tidying seemed a bit daunting at first, but it's all doable (as we've both proven) and the lack of any difficulty-related trophies is a blessing. Nice work!

@Bentleyma Excellent, really looking forward to picking this up someday! Nicely done!

As a side note, I really hope that Vanguard Pack is available separately, as I've missed the pre-order window but would adore sporting that RoboCop 2 aesthetic!

@RogerRoger Not disagreeing with you, but given what Insomniac has put out since the PS4, does Sony really want them doing something other than Marvel games?

As long as we're not just wishfully thinking, it's all good in the end of course. It's not like I don't love their Marvel games of course, but Rift Apart left things in such an interesting place for Ratchet & Clank (and Rivet) that it would be a shame not to make more of them on the side. We'll see obviously.
