@Oram77 congrats on the 161th! I actually platted 7 twice, but still need to go back and do the other stuff in IW. I think it’s a fantastic game, it’s nice you got a LaD/Yakuza game out of the way, as I feel having at least one LaD is obligatory for every plat collector.
Since this is your first LaD game, you might enjoy Gaiden or Pirate, they’re a lot shorter to plat too, they’ll only hardly take you a week even if you take your time.
I’m a big Yakuza fan, I played every game thrice on ps4, Xbox and steam deck so I can give a few pointers.

I really enjoyed this one. Just small enough to not overwhelm while still having a decent amount of meat. It feels like a long time since I’ve played a game that purposefully pares back its mechanics and its honestly all the better for it. So many games are obsessed with having more stuff but not necessarily better stuff. This game has basically all the stuff that works from across the AC series while cutting out (most of) the crap. I’m still not sold on the combat controls and they should just go back to the old system of square to attack and R2 to run, it was pretty much perfect and having the contextual controls on screen at all times was a fantastic idea that got abandoned for no reason.
Platinum was pretty solid, just do everything and engage with the various mechanics. One for every type of tool and every way to interact with the population. Only annoying ones were blend assassinations that are so so much harder to do in this game because the crowds are pathetic compared to games that came out literally over a decade ago, and then even finding 20 scaffolds to pull down. Solid 8/10 game with a genuinely sad ending even though I knew where it would end up because of Valhalla. More like this please, even if everything I’ve heard about Shadows shows the issues with having multiple teams on a series.
With the bronze trophy “Carcosan Conqueror” (for killing 10 Alpha hostiles in Saros) I got my trophy level up to 400 yesterday. I’m still in the silver tier, though. Apparently you don’t become gold until level 600, so I have a ways to go.
Honestly, I haven’t really paid much attention to my trophy level. I preferred the older level system to this one where you might change levels quicker but they’re less meaningful. Nevertheless, 400 feels like a small milestone as I’ve been stuck in the 300’s for a while.

@nessisonett Congrats it does sound like a good game. After Valhalla I haven't been able to get back into the series, I do need to try Syndicate, Liberation, Blackflag, Shadows and of course Mirage. Something about Valhalla made it hard to want to push on through those other games. I like bloat too, it just felt so sluggish, I didn't even play the DLCs. It didn't feel like a bad game, there was just a kind of 'this feels more like a job that a game'. I'd just gotten done with Origins and Odyssey too, it was like going from one of my favorite subjects Egyptology, to a really colourful, open and exciting world (Kassandra's) to a very bleak and bland something and unlike other games it didn't make me want to pickup a book and learn more about Vikings, just to be done with the platinum as soon as possible.
@Oram77 Congrats, I've talked about my own journey with that game so many times, it was long to put it bluntly. The grind? you know all about it, well done for keeping with it. I had to cheat at the end and buy a level booster pack, the XP was so broken in EndGame and I wasn't going to spend nights running through those same hallways over and over again just to reach max level. No way. I hope you used the builder's hat trick on your island too, it saves so many hours, and so much fatigue.

@GirlVersusGame Valhalla really is enormous, possibly the biggest game I’ve gotten 100% in. I personally loved the setting though and that’s what helped me push through.
@GirlVersusGame I won't lie I was very close to buying the level booster pack (for £4.99) however I did some digging online and found a neat farming method: basically you find a ancient sage and if the floor is big enough you basically can run to opposite corner and he will respawn and you can basically do that forever! I took me about 3 hours to get from level 53 to 70.
@Oram77 The hat was one of those yellow hats you see construction men wear, they were small so when you placed them on the island they took up so little room but each one cost next to no materials to make and helped me rank up the Island in no time at all. I had plots full of nothing but hats, hundreds, then my Island hit max rank and I went back to the mainland. I wasn't going to stay there for hours or longer, the hat saved the day. I'd have skipped the booster pack had the dungeons been fun, I watched movies on another screen while I did it then saw the boosters and the nightmare ended.

Well done on 400, i am Gold as my level is a little higher than 600 but tbh it is all fairly meaningless to me as I was looking on psnprofiles the other day and was looking at a new VR game (trophies out but game is not on the store, UK one at least) and noticed that a person was already earning trophies for the game so I clicked on their ID to see how they were doing in said game and noticed that their trophy level is 3244, however their ultra rare trophies is less than half of mine so yeah meaningless.

I didn’t really get on with Valhalla and totally agree that it was all a bit drab especially after the awesome Origins and Odyssey.
Syndicate was great though and I guess that could be classed as bleak but it certainly wasn’t bland, one of my favourites.
I’ve yet to play Shadows, it is on my list at some point.
First off, platinum 162 was Miles Morales but just couldn't be bothered to talk about (good game though). Now it's been literal years since I played infamous 1, was one of the free games I picked when we got hacked by the Lizard squad (god remember that?). I actually jived with the game quite a lot, Fetch is a great character I knew straight away Laura Bailey voiced her!
The story while nothing major was still pretty good and was paced perfectly. Combat was simple but very addicting and really took me back to days of PS3/PS4 game play (if that makes). The trophies however were a little lame as they just boiled down to chapter completion and grinding out some awfully thought out "challenges".
Overall the game was fun and didn't out stay it's welcome at all and just like with Miles I'm kinda digging the shorter game streak I'm on, opposed to my usual 80-100 hour trophy hunts. 7.5/10
@Oram77 waoh I didn’t expect to see inFamous in the big 26, I’ve felt a little lukewarm on first light but appreciate the attempt to try extend SECOND SON, which was a good hand imo. Glad you enjoyed it cuz infamous is really awesome and congrats on the 163rd.

@Oram77 Nicely done, I also picked up Infamous back then, a lifetime ago. Alas, I still haven't tackled the series until this year when I decided to get the Infamous 2 online stuff boxed off and instantly knew I had to remedy that particular blind spot in my history. How do the new entries compare to the original ps3 titles?
Miles Morales is my favourite in the series, it's the perfect length. Agreed, we need more games like that 👍

Honestly I liked the story quite a lot and Kay is a great MC so much so I think she could have her own movie or anime. They nailed the vibes of Star wars and nothing really screamed "I shouldn't be here", some of writing was a bit cringy but I think that just how modern writers operate. I think the biggest crime of the game was.... it was made by Ubisoft and their obsession with ? clogging up the map at all times. The controls also felt clunky (especially the flying) but funny enough the climbing felt better then in Black Flag resync 😅

My latest is #78 - Tails Noir - I played this about 4 years ago on Xbox and it has so much going for it, but seems to have suffered from time or money constraints as you can see there was potential for so much more to happen but the devs obviously couldn't make it happen. The biggest issue with this revolves around the story, it starts strong, establishes a strong detective crime noir setting and an intriguing plot then skips to a slightly nonsensical conclusion way too quickly. Art style, music and the animation are all top notch though.
Couple of trophies required deleting saves from console and cloud but overall nothing too strenuous.
This is embarrassing to admit but this is the first time I've played a Mafia game, this franchise must have passed me by this whole time, but with the PS5 version being released for ONLY £5.24 I thought it would be worth the plunge.... and it's safe to say I LOVED it! The story was really gripping (though a bit cliche), the voice acting was also exceptional, especially Tommy and Sarah, the game also made me realise how iconic the 30s look is and makes me want more games from that era.
I did my play through on classic and honestly I found it easy to be honest, that maybe because 3rd person shooters are my bread and butter, but even so it never took away my enjoyment of the shoot out sections, as I just felt so badass during them.
Trophy wise, very simply affair, though I did feel then went OTT with collectibles (sign of times when it came out I guess) but I loved the pulp fiction art style for them so it was worth it. I've heard that a certain race is infamous on classic and I'm here to tell you it took me 20 mins, was I lucky? was patched for the PS5? I have no idea but I can see why people hate it so much (that first corner man...)
overall the game is brilliant and at that price I highly recommend you pick it up before that discount goes away. I really want to play Mafia 2 now but I see there isn't a PS5 version so no 60FPS which is a bit yikes..

I hate you (not really) Three nights I tried on that race, then deleted the game. A lot of other people will tell you the same thing, I thought it was bad on PS2, it's just as bad on PS5. I'm not a violent person most days but I wanted to garrote with my controller cable the game Developer in-charge of that race. And still do. Congrats for pulling it off.
