#63 - Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered

Genuinely decent game, remarkably good when you consider it was developed by a side studio in 8 months. But it’s quite buggy and the game is really quite short compared to the fairly gargantuan side content. The platinum just takes far too long for the size of game, doing 20 ship convoys and 20 supply camps is a bit of a grind never mind doing another 10 supply camps with a specific cheat on. The platinum grind honestly soured me a bit on what is a pretty good game. Only Unity left now though!

@Yousef- Thanks! The duology's trophy list is pretty straightforward, but it does require you to trigger a few hidden appearances or lines of dialogue... some of which I really didn't wanna do, 'cause it meant you had to be cruel to certain characters!

Are you a fan of the series, by any chance?

Yousef-

@Werehog of course : ))
Since middle school I think
My first game was probably in 2011
Started with the original which had an iOS port then kept going in chronological order.
My favorite is prosecuter’s gambit. : ))

@nessisonett I’m actually quite glad that this is a good game. Will definitely try it if I get the kick to play more Air Conditioner games.

@Werehog Congrats on both. I imagine Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is a bit more forgiving and linear given that it's most likely set in a courtroom and the answers/evidence are so specific. I'd also guess that they are a defense attorney since there wouldn't be as much of a challenge if you were playing a prosecutor and I can definitely see reasonable doubt/challenging the prosecution being an interesting mechanic. I like the defense side of the law too, maybe I'll try it sometime. But Sonic sounds a lot harder with platforming and collecting rings and things so well done on that too, especially with those hours.

Bit of a late start, but I'm sure I'll make up for lost time!

  • The main thing is they were both games you cared about and you didn't do it just for the trophies themselves, you could have spent the last couple of months putting hours into random games that meant very little to you. I don't think everyone can say that, trophies can often become a chore.

I started Kingdom Come Deliverance last week and funnily enough I haven't even looked at the trophies. I probably burnt out a little and had to try something that was more about the journey than the destination. Platinum might be possible in this game, I don't mind if it's not because something else will be. Everything so far has been more like an experience and less like a game. I'm at the moment bouncing time-zones quite regularly so the added pressure that I'd put on myself wouldn't be the best idea. I think if I saw this game as an actual game I'd be more likely to push for completion, it's that rare break between a game and an experience that happens once in a blue moon. When it does happens I forget that platinum exists and just try to soak in the world/those moments and memories. I can't remember that last game that offered anything like that, it's captured something really unique. It's just me, my puppy (DLC) and my horse, they don't seem to make a lot of games like this anymore. It's hard too, the combat especially which is it's own trophy when you do take down an opponent or quite a few. I've posted some of my journey in the what are you playing thread, it's been different. Any plans for your next game or platinum?

@Yousef- It’s a really interesting reuse of assets and gameplay from both 3 and Black Flag and I do think that it fixes a lot of my issues with Black Flag as it’s a lot faster paced in general.
