@Voltan Ah, the infamous ‘random encounter yet untrackable and difficult to achieve even when encounter does occur’ trophy. My favorite kind. 😜

Although I love a good platinum run, it’s not a deal breaker for me. It’s good to know ahead of time that there’s a plat-stopper trophy like that so when I do play it I’ll not get too worried about trophies while I play the game. If a game naturally comes down to one or two difficult trophies at the end then maybe I grind them out, but I probably will let them go if there’s more than that, depending how much I’m enjoying things.

Thanks for the summary, though. Much appreciated. Most of the discourse on the game was around the launch period and leaned towards the negative. And I think people like to dunk on Ubisoft nowadays, so it’s hard to sift through the criticisms.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

Voltan

@Th3solution I do think it could benefit from another delay at launch, although it's difficult to say how much they could improve without player feedback.

@Th3solution Funnily enough, I booted up the game after work and the other 2 ships appeared (and got successfully destroyed) on first try, took about 5 minutes. The 2 from last night did indeed count so the platinum is done now

It wasn't terrible, but this was the worst survival game I've played in co-op. Was pretty short, too. Palworld took us 90+ hours to get the plat, while we finished this in under 12 hours.

@WCB hey mate I just picked up a mint copy of P4 golden and I was wondering about doing a platinum run! Is it a tough plat do you know?

My latest platinum was a really easy one with WRC 24. Currently doing Ragnarok and Snowrunner of which I’m sure the majority of time will be spent on the latter 😂

@Mikey856 it's not a tough plat (I haven't got it yet btw) but you need to do two playthroughs to pop it. You can do a blind run on your first playthrough but need to get the true ending to unlock the hidden bosses in the 2nd.

I'm at the last dungeon in the true ending. I put it down and haven't picked it up again. Got distracted haha. I did a blind playthrough and still picked up lots of trophies, but I'll need to follow a guide for my NG+ to complete the rest.

One trophy , Hardcore Risette Fan, will be a pain because you have to hear 250 of her lines in the dungeons. Otherwise it shouldn't be too much trouble.

So you can either follow a guide on your first run or second, depending on how you like to play.

After a particularly barren start to the year where I managed to pick up ZERO platinum trophies in January I am happy to report that I'm back on the trophy trail and keeping up those averages. Though due to a shift in available hours I have had to jump on a bunch of shorter games to do so...
February's platinum trophies:
Guardians of the Galaxy (PS4); Guardians of the Galaxy (PS5); The Gardens Between (PS4); Killer Frequency (PS5); Cat Quest 2 (PS4); It Takes Two (PS5); High on Life (PS5).

@sorteddan
Nice. Was High on Life any good? It is in my backlog but I’m just not sure.
My recent plats are Job simulator psvr2, Ghostbusters psvr2, Before your eyes psvr2, Synapse psvr2 and Gris (this months game club game).

@CaptD
Honesty No.
In terms of a FPS I wish I had played Doom Eternal instead. I think the "humour" is the main selling point but, aside from a few instances, it mostly falls flat. I mean if you're constantly amused at having a talking gun that uses the F-word then you may enjoy it more than I did!
Fairly easy plat though @16 hours I think.

@sorteddan
Thanks, I did sort of think that would be the case.
I played a Rick n Marty VR game a while back and had to mute the character as it was irritating.

On New Year's Eve, got Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake done and that was 130. I got my 131st today with the PS5 version of TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection. I avoided using the trick to make it a quick plat.

@MidnightDragonDX Well done on the plats! I'm yet to play DQ is it a difficult platinum?

Not at all. Nothing is missable. You can go back at any time to get anything you missed. Just be aware you do have to play through the postgame to get the platinum since not everything is available during the story.

@WCB so sorry for the late reply mate. I don’t seem to be getting notifications when I should be 🤷‍♂️. That’s a sweet run down mate and it’s made me even more intrigued to go for it following your plan 😂👊. When I’m done with my current Vita run (Golden Abyss) I’ll be considering this for my next run.

On the platinum front my latest is Rebirth and wow it’s insanely difficult!!! Bloodborne was easy compared to some of that and I’m saying this with a straight face I promise. My next two games I’ve started are Snowrunner and Ragnarok so I’ll be continuing with those two plus my offline Vita run which I only sync once platted. IKR

Platinum #63 is Alan Wake 2

Brilliant game, I rate it 10/10 and I'm not even a horror fan (truth be told, I needed to take more breaks than usual because some of it was too tense for me).
The platinum's not too hard as long as you're thorough with the exploration (later in the game you can get items/upgrades that mark collectibles on the map when you're in their general vicinity).
I did also finish (and love) the DLC but did not get 100% there and probably won't be going for it at this time.

Just finished off the plat on Lords of the Fallen 2014 and my heart was in my mouth for a second as the platinum didn’t actually trigger on screen. I got the final two trophies but the platinum was nowhere to be seen. I waited for the credits to roll and checked my trophy list and thankfully it was there! 😅

Now this probably had something to do with where/how I’ve been playing… and thought it might be worth noting it down here in case anyone else is playing the same game (though not necessarily LotF 2014) across various systems. My initial playthrough on LotF was on PS4 back in 2018. I then started my second playthrough (again on PS4) last week. Then I was away for the weekend and although I hadn’t finished my second playthrough yet, I thought I’d be clever and install the game on PS5, so that I could start my third playthrough using the portal while we were in the hotel.

Then after getting home on Sunday, I chipped away at both playthroughs on PS4 and PS5, before finishing off the 2nd on PS4 this morning and playthrough 3 on PS5 this afternoon. I’m guessing that I just confused the **** out of the trophy system or something. 🤣
