@CaptD It's fine, it's probably due to my own notification settings. There were only a couple so maybe you didn't beat my times on the easier difficulties 😉.
I brought the extra dlc unlocks for RE2R when it went super cheap later on. After a few normal playthroughs there is something quite pleasing about blitzing through it with an infinite rocket launcher, who's scared now Mr. X?
You're right they don't help with 4th survivor. You have to complete it with a set inventory of weapons/ammo. With my limited attempts I realised I barely got half way and get it progressively harder as it goes. I think you need to be really good at staggering enemies with a single bullet or two and rushing past without getting grabbed. Two things I don't excel at.

Haven't posted my plats for a while but this evening I got a surprise one. I've been playing Snowrunner on and off for over a year and a half (definitively a game to play in bursts). I only had the trophy for doing all of the contracts in the game left to do so I've been doing a few at a time to knock them out. Just finished a contract and the trophy popped despite there being half-a-dozen contracts still in the list to do. I can only assume some were added in an update sometime after the release and aren't needed for the trophy.
Yeah so Platinum 131 I wasn't expecting to get today.

@BearsEatBeets
Nice, great platinum to have. I really should play one of the 'runner' games.

My latest platinum is Remnant 2. Difficulty 3/10, easier than the first one as there seemed to be less emphasis on Ads which is nice although a few too many puzzles imo. Time 50 hours.
Tip get the sage ring asap, keep equipped and max out the archetypes asap then more on when one is maxed,

Not actually done with the game yet, since I still have some DLC left to tackle, but I did pop the platinum trophy for Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4 this morning. Once I get all the trophies for the expansions, I'll have to decide if I want to do an Ultimate difficulty NG+ run for those last few trophies, or if I want to move on to something else on my PS4.

The game looks great and runs marvelously on what is, frankly, a pretty weak console these days. Sony's best teams really do a good job of getting their hardware to sing.

I’m currently working on the platinum for Ys 8 on Vita. I’m hoping to do it all in one playthrough, so I’m playing on Nightmare difficulty. It hasn’t been hard. I do feel like I missed an opportunity on a certain trophy early on that I can’t get back, but we will see how the story unfolds and if that’s truly the case.

I’ve mostly fallen off the trophy hunting endeavor lately. I still try to maximize accomplishing any reasonable trophies during a playthrough, but I’m less inclined to go too far out of my way to get trophies. I still get satisfaction from hearing the chime of a trophy registering, but I have just been running short on time so I haven’t spent extra effort like I used to.

That said, I was curious to look at my trophy list and see what have been my rarest trophies lately. I was prompted to do this when I was looking at my PS Stars level (which is 3) and one of the criteria is a certain number of “rare and above” trophies. I don’t typically pay attention to the rarity of trophies, but rather just their color; I reflexively think of: platinum > gold > silver > bronze, which is true in any given game usually, as far as how difficult it is to achieve said trophy. But in looking at the trophy rarity, you get a completely different sense of a trophy’s worth. Fortunately the trophy list function easily shows you the rarest trophy for each game that you’ve played.

So a quick survey of games I’ve played over the last few years showed me some interesting stats. Here are my rarest trophies in recent times:

Immortals of Aveum Out of Time (bronze) for “Spoke to Orphe about every topic” — 1.1%

Tchia Thing (gold) for “Find and soul jump into Pwi Dua’s hand” — 2.8%

A Plague Tale: Requiem Explorer (silver) for “Open all the secret chests” — 3.2%

Guardians of the Galaxy, Platium — 3.2%

Rime, Platinum — 3.9%

Returnal Echoes of the Past (gold) for “Finish echoing ruins survey” — 4.1%

Stray Pacifist (gold) for “Complete the sewers without killing any zurks” — 4.5%

Astro’s Playroom, Platinum — 4.5%

God of War, Platinum — 4.6%

GT7 Circuit Master (silver) for “Complete 15 tracks in circuit experience” — 5.2%

Control, Platinum — 5.3%

And my rarest trophy that I’ve achieved on PS5 is…. (drumroll…) —

Disco Elysium The Most Honourable Cop in the Land (silver) for “Gather 11 honour points” — 0.3% !!!

I didn’t see that coming! 😅

Obviously there’s a pattern here that very clearly the rarest trophies are to be found in games that are available through PS Plus because presumably everytime someone boots up the game then that goes into the denominator, whether they really play the game or just try it for a few minutes then abandon it. Most of my platinums and difficult golds aren’t actually that rare. Most are in the 20-30% range.

So in conclusion, the subscription services have broken trophy rarity as any meaningful metric. Which is no surprise, but it was a fun exercise to look at it specifically on my own list.

I haven't been updating you all on my exciting trophy activities lately, but you'll be glad to know I finally completed my mission and got the platinum in every Yakuza game. Yakuza 5 is a joke of a platinum. Absolute ordeal. But once that was done it was all plane sailing. Did Yakuza 7 again on PS4 for a second platinum just for good measure.

#55 - Hitman 3

Technically it’s like a triple whammy since I got every trophy in the other two games’ content through the 3rd one too. Incredible games, one of my favourite series, ridiculously good package. Good solid set too. With the way content carries over, this is really a game I’ve been chipping away at since Paris released so it’s nice to finally put a ribbon on everything.

Platinum no.27

Ratchet and clank rift apart

Really enjoyed this game, was a fun little action/platformer and the plat comes almost naturally with a few additional trophies to go out of your way for.

Took 10 hours, I paid ÂŁ18 in CeX for it and I would say ÂŁ20 and under is a bout right for it.

#56 - Animal Well

Really good. The squirrel trophy was a ballache but other than that it’s a great set that at least doesn’t require you to delve into the really really hidden stuff. I got quite a few bunnies but can’t really bring myself to 100% it now that I have the plat. If my theory’s right then I think the last puzzle might require machine code knowledge and mine is awfully rusty, haven’t done that since uni. Did feel like Einstein when I found the bunny that requires you to scan the grass that resembles a barcode though. Great game all round, highly recommend.

Platinum numero 42 - Life is Strange: True Colors

And that gives me the set. Well, at least until Double Exposure comes out.

True Colors as a nice little game. It doesn’t do anything too extraordinary for those who don’t like the LiS format, but if you do like a story based, light choose-your-path setup type of games, then this is a solid entry with likable characters, a nice setting, and a story that’s pretty okay. The game doesn’t get into quite the level of controversial topics as LiS2 and it doesn’t have decidedly the foundational coming-of-age characters as the original LiS, but it does tackle some heavy themes and does come with the hallmark indie music as a backdrop. And like the other LiS games, an easy and enjoyable platinum.

Loved it. Definitely up there with the best the genre has to offer. I'd probably even say it's the best platformer I've played.

Just hit 125 with Astro Bot. Was an awesome game! I'd say 9.5/10. Some of the platforming levels is why I won't give it 10/10. Still, this game was amazing and I loved it.

Enjoyed the last few games in the series and never actually thought about getting the plat in any of them but after about 10 hours of play realised I was really close with out actually trying, another 5 or so hour and the plat was achieved. A really impressive sports sim game that I've enjoyed my time with and I'll dable in and out of it over time no doubt.

#29 - Little Nightmares II

Both plats came from ps plusses offerings this month. I really really enjoyed the first game and when this came out I always new I was going to play it, I've almost pulled the trigger a few times but ultimately it came to ps plus. Not as good as the first game as you now sort of know what to expect but still a great little game and the setting was really cool. Also not as difficult as the first.

If anybody is aiming to play The Plucky Squire (PS5) - know that the Saviour of the Glitchbirds trophy is a bit bugged so can't be obtained using Chapter select (kind of ironic I suppose) so maybe worth using a guide so you don't miss any on your initial playthrough.
Not a major problem as I'm almost nearing the end after about 4hours by playing on easy, skipping most combat, exploration and minigames but still I would rather have already been done with it by now so just a heads up for anybody who cares.

Edit: While I'm here this month's platinum trophies...

Great game actually plus sort of accidentally got all the trophies naturally as I played it. The seasons thing is one of the worse ideas in the Ultimate Team space but the core gameplay is brilliant and the single player modes are great fun.

Got myself a lovely shiny platinum trophy today for Dead Space on PS5.
Great remake of a great game. Really enjoyed having to do a plasma cutter only run, hard mode on NG+ before the final ultimate difficulty run which was more tense than it should've been.
Definitely recommend and happy to have it done in time with a few more days to cram in some more spooky game action before Halloween.

Platinum #200 - GTA IV - still a great game, though it is starting to show its age. The resolution and frame-rate are shocking tbh, the drivings too heavy and the gunplay is pretty janky but… the atmosphere and density of Liberty City still absolutely shines. Was stumped for months about what would be a suitable game for the milestone but once I decided to commit to playing GTA IV again (played it on 360 originally), this felt right.
