Topic: The Trophy Discussion Thread

@RogerRoger I know right... it’s all in the interest of keeping things fresh tbh. MGS 2 & MGS 4 were so intense, that some light and fluffy fun seemed the most appropriate next step.

Just started Guacamelee and will be juggling it with Borderlands 2, which I started yesterday... so they’ll raise the challenge a bit I suppose. My next truly difficult plat challenges will be the first three Devil May Cry games and Returnal... but they’ll be sometime in 2022.

@colonelkilgore Well, as a person who has only 32 platinums, I consider my Astrobot one to be actually of roughly average difficulty. 😅 I have quite a few Telltale platinums in there. At least for Astrobot you had to try to do a little extra. 😄

@Th3solution I’ve got two Telltales myself tbh, I do like something easy-breezy after something super intense. Both Telltale games were after MGSV & TLoU2 (which wouldn’t have been that intense really, if I hadn’t of crammed it in in like three days).

@RogerRoger congrats buddy, I got this one and Rise... in the backlog, I take it the dlc trophies weren’t a requirement of the plat?

Can’t believe how long it took me to finish this! I’m kinda glad I’m done with it, but at the same time I miss it. 🤷

Platinum #65 - Guacamelee - loved it… and it maybe because I’m new to the whole metroidvania thing but I found it quite the challenge too.

@RogerRoger I’m tempted to grab the other games that have been released on phones, but I don’t want to buy them only for them to be released on PS4 at some point.

@colonelkilgore I haven’t got an exact number, but I’ve definitely played it for well over 100 hours.

@Bentleyma- yeah 100 hours is the point where I class a platinum as long. Still, I like to think that when we’ve put that much time in to a game that we must’ve really enjoyed it... even if there is some relief when it’s finally done. I personally like to play something quite a bit shorter after something like that... as a sort of ‘come-down’ remedy 😉

@colonelkilgore Yeah I definitely like to move onto something shorter after spending over 100 hours with one game… Which is why I picked Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which is something like 80 hours. 🤦‍♂️

@Bentleyma- the plat is a lot longer than that from what I’ve heard 🤣

edit. PSNProfiles and PlayStationTrophies states 100+ and PowerPyx says 120+... I always tend to add between 10%-20% extra on to those suggested times too, as whoever produces this info doesn’t seem like mere mortal sometimes.

@colonelkilgore I highly doubt I’ll plat it, but I now have 8 days off work, so I’ll see how I go!

@RogerRoger Funny thing is I said I’m glad I’m done with The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, but if they were to release another collection tomorrow, I’d buy and play it straight away!

Plat #59 Minesweeper Genius.

Such a game to put on between other games. Well worth a shot and by the end you are a suduko minesweeping genius.

Okay, yeah… Tuesday nights would probably work quite well fo me, so I’ll put Borderlands 2 on hold and just play it co-op 👍

@Keith_Zissou good luck dude, iirc I had to get to the point a little ways after Abby first hooks up with Lev and Yara before I had everything maxed out.

I think I need to check this place more often, folks have been busy.
