Just hit a major ‘sigh-of-relief’ moment in The Last of Us: Remastered. I missed out on all the artifacts (and therefore all collectibles) during my 100% collectibles run last week, through foolishly choosing not to bother checking through the stuff in Ellie’s rucksack during the Winter stage.
I had read that the two trophies attached to this act are very temperamental and might only pop during one playthrough, so collecting them during my Survivor+ run might not pop them… thankfully my crossing my toes and touching wood method, while searching through Ellie’s rucksack on this playthrough worked. Phew! 😅
Platinum#86: Sound Shapes
Continuing to clear the backlog.
First trophy obtained around 2 years ago. Finally got back to it last week to tackle death mode levels. Some of those were seriously at the extent of my reflexes and dexterity so very pleased to put this one behind me (finally!!!)

@Sorteddan It’s looking more like Monday after I get home from work I reckon… that’s fine though. As long as I get it done before my day off on Wednesday… as I like to start something new when I got a long session ahead.
Not a long or difficult platinum but it’s easy to miss a collectible or two, or miss one of the chapter specific trophies. Thankfully the chapter select makes mopping them up pretty straightforward.
Just finished up Far Cry 5 for #99!! First game I've played in the series and I had a great time with it outside of the 20+ crashes lol. Gotta figure out what I wanna do for the big 100!!
Platinum no. 17 - Mafia: Definitive Edition. Gets very grindy towards the end but a seriously enjoyable game! Think this might be the first platinum I’ve gotten as part of Game Club actually 😂
@Thrillho I've been quite enjoying playing a bit of Plague Tale between other games but think I've missed loads of collectables. Did you find any of them take much effort to get e.g. having to sneak about on the guarded sections?
@render I was really thorough trying to find them but still missed a few as some are really sneaky (one was in the battlefield level and you have to push a cart in a completely different direction to find it) and some you can still easily miss.
I missed one right at the end of chapter 9 despite specifically checking the area. I still had to do that level again to get “the hard way” trophy. Also, once you get a collectible it’s registered as found so you can immediately quit the level.
There are plenty of good guides to help if that’s all you need. The ones for upgrading your kit can be cheesed as there is a glitch that lets you do it easily which still works.
@render Also, once you’ve done a level already, I found I could zoom through if I wasn’t scouting for materials or collectibles and I already knew what I was doing.
@Thrillho Cheers, I'll probably try and mop those up then once I'm done as it doesn't sound like it's going to be too much of a chore. I've been through the battlefield section and did think there's bound to be something in there that I'm walking straight past 😂
Platinum #55 - The Last of Us: Remastered - honestly one of the most satisfying platinum trophies I’ve had the pleasure to have earned. Obviously a great game but I really hadn’t fully appreciated how great it is back when I played it in 2014… now two play-throughs later, I finally see that ‘the emperor had clothes on all along’ 😉.
@render cheers buddy, I think it helped that I went straight into the Survivor+ run after my 100% Collectibles run, so that everything was fresh in the mind.
@render@Thrillho I’m also playing through A Plague Tale nice and slow, trying to avoid missing anything. I do believe that I’ve done pretty well so far and I guess I’ll find out at the end if I missed anything. I did get the one in the battlefield and the one at the end of chapter 9. I’ve found that it’s a good idea to kill all the guards if at all possible despite it being possible to easily sneak past without killing them since often there’s a collectible or at least some supplies that are tucked away close to them.
Still, the game is so sneaky at hiding the items and collectibles. There’s been many times that I might die at one of the set pieces and when I respawn back at the checkpoint and do the section again I notice some pick-up items that I walked right past on my first go. I honestly don’t know how I could have missed them and I swear the game placed them there after I passed by 😂.
My current struggle is finding some more blasted leather for my sling upgrades. The game gives you oodles of alcohol, crystals, and powder but is really miserly with the leather and cloth swatches. I’m starting to wonder if it’s even possible to platinum it on a single run without going back to mop up for supplies. I might have to look up the cheesing technique at the end it I don’t get all the upgrades.
The lack of supplies gives the game a hint of survival horror, as rationing your inventory is important, although not quite as difficult as TLoU or RE. It seems like there is always a way to get past a section without having to dip into the rare high powered weapons like the luminosa and the sleep-inducing one (I forget the name)
But man, I really like this game still. Because of Returnal I’ve neglected it, but when I jump back into it I grow to appreciate it again. Haven’t finished it yet but I’ve already got the sequel high on my list of anticipated games.
Edit: Have you guys played it on PS5? I’m really loving the DualSense features. It’s pretty subtle but it has nice things like a slight feeling when you brush up against some foliage or the pitter-patter of the rats when they are near. The R2 trigger has a cool mild resistance when sprinting that if you push down too hard you don’t feel, but if you press lightly then it pulsates with each step while Amicia runs.
