I have just got a new slim line ps4 and now my old ps4 will not work it says i need to download something off the internet via usb, is this normal?????
Also it will not even let my watch dvd as it keeps memory syncing
The only thing that comes to mind is if you swapped out your original internal hard drive with a bigger one you need to download the OS from Sony's site and install it via a flash drive.

@ShadowPrince It could be down to having the Slim as your 'Primary' console and not setting up the old PS4 as a 'secondary' option. I am not sure why it needs something to be downloaded though as I assume both would still have the latest Operating System. I know when swapping HDD's, you need to reinstall the OS but not heard of anything needed if you keep the existing HDD's.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

@Kyroki I recently got a Slim after my launch model gave up the ghost, no problem with switching over, just make sure you upload all your saves to the online storage in settings. Also when you get a new ps4, during the set up it will ask you if it's your new primary account, just say yes and everythings perfect
