But i would also say that it is going to be quite a lot of work - certainly if it's open to all eras and consoles. I'd suggest perhaps having the submissions categorised, by console - or better - by generation?

8 generations, so perhaps 8 submissions per member in total?

I'm just gutted that Best Buttocks wasn't voted for enough. I guess we'll go with best Cover Art then. Yeah, do that.

the biggest issue is the shear volume of cover art there is out there, especially up to the current gen when a game could have vastly different art depending on region of release

of course we could modify it a bit and instead look at older gen games and then instead of it being a random one we have a selection of games say 10 games and then vote on which region had the best version

let's say the game was Silent Hill on PS1 we put up a picture of each regions box art and vote on it

for example

Favourite Cover Art: Silent Hill

A:U.S.A

B:UK/EU

C:Japanese

then afterwards once each of the chosen games have been voted on we have a final vote on the overall best of the best from the winners of each round

would that work?

Well it gets even more complicated, some games will release on as many as 7 different platforms, maybe even more and who knows how many regions, so potentially you could be looking at well over a dozen covers for the same title. Looking at every single cover for each game would be really difficult and for really old games, pretty much impossible.

My suggestion would be to simply, put forward your favourite cover for said game and if someone else thinks there is a superior version out there, then they are welcome to contest it.

Thanks for the good ideas on here, keep ‘em coming. I’m reading them and taking note. Continue to discuss how you feel the poll should unfold. I will take it all into consideration. Keeping administration simple will be a key for me.

Voting is still open. We do have a few votes for Franchise but Box Art definitely has the early lead.

I’m withholding my vote for now to serve as a tie-breaker if needed.

I dont know if it's worth doing best box arts from previous polls. For example I think we did best PS game of all time (or something) and they were ranked. Maybe just make the the basis.

That or we all just throw in 20-30 games randomly and a list is chosen at random.

@kyleforrester87 I think general ranking groups would be good enough for box art. Maybe the top 10-20 get ranked and that’s it.

@Th3solution sorry for bailing I'm in Disneyland. Great place but jeez the kids are hard work in a place like this. It's like a Ubisoft game.

@FullbringIchigo That feels like it could be quite long winded. Just have everyone put up there top cover arts and rank them accordingly.

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy that was very hard work tbh. It's too much work and stress. I think someone mentioned that we should all pick a cover each (or 2) and then work it from there with the 20-50 that we get.

Then have a main vote on all the covers and then have a finals group of 10 or so.

@Th3solution your doing a great job mate. We could run 2 polls, best franchise and best cover art. Every commentor has to pick a few franchises and 1 or 2 cover arts. Then you can have a vote off with both at the same time. Good luck with that mwa hahaha. I've only just looked at all the posts being without WiFi (hate registering for WiFi) is both a blessing and a Curse.

That's sat the ratatouille ride and Hollywood tower are unbelievable. Ratatouille in particular blew my mind. Had dinner with the princess's earlier, the bill was 300 euros (luckily I'm half board so it was fine, screw you house of mouse) Best of all I got to meet my hero, that's right... The barman who doesn't understand me and made me a rum cocktail rather than a coke and lime. Go Disney. Absolute rip off but there's always something to see and smile at.

If I had to choose I would say video game box art. I like games and I like art!

I love that everyone has all these ideas. Seems to be getting a little complicated though! May I suggest something to try and simplify things a bit? This community isn't huge, keep that in mind!

What if there were 2 or 3 appointed judges, every participant posts THEIR favorite box art (seems like that one is going to take the win), maximum of 3, from any system, anytime, any region etc. The judges narrow it down to a number of their liking (example) 10, and then the community vote on them. Same basic formula we did for the push square screenshot thread!

@NYJetsfan123 It’s a megapoll that lasts a while, so it’s better to have a lot of community involvement and votes. It wouldn’t be the same if we did that.

How so? Do you remember the pushsquare screenshot thread? There was a ton of entries and I would still hardly call that a "megapoll"

Unless those people that have come up with the more complex ideas wanna help administer it, as I don't think it is fair on those that do, I reckon just keep it to a simple process as we can.

I think we should reconsider the best butt idea.
