WHat's everyone thinking of Broforce so far? It's an early shout for Game of the Year in my opinion

No desire to play it whatsoever. From the videos I have seen I am not impressed and I think it doesn't warrent the hype. Just proves you can slap an 80's theme on anything and people will buy it.

Not a fan of the 80s nostalgia either, but this game is really great in co-op. Despite the 'bro' part the game is still a lot of fun to play. Had a great couple of evenings playing it with friends.

The game does however have too many technical problems. It experiences a lot of stuttering in later levels and the game often freezes at the start of a level. That's a real bummer.

7/10.

Never heard of the game until today. A friend of mine got it for PS+, and we played it with a couple of people. It's definitely fun in co-op! I haven't tried solo mode yet, is it any fun playing alone?

@Octane: Alone it plays out a little slower, but is still insane when you get to fast-paced parts. It's really fun either way!

Played some of this yesterday, it's pretty fun! I can imagine it's a lot more fun with co-op though, it looks to have the potential for some really funny moments to happen randomly, which is always a good thing. I love how destructible the map is, you can create some cool ways of killing the enemies with it

It's fun but I can't see me playing this more than a few times, shame it got cancelled for Vita.

Game has a nice novelty factor but it's no Gunstar Heroes or Metal Slug.

@get2sammyb: Yeah, it's a really odd issue too. It's like after 2 seconds in to every level or retry. It's not game breaking, but it's like having an itch you can't scratch: it gets more annoying the as it continues!

There was a game idea here. It's gone now.

Either that or they figure they could sell it anyway by hopping aboard the 80's retro hype train.

Seriously Tasuki what's with your hatred towards that game?
You leave out no opportunity to drop a bad remark about it yet you haven't even played it yourself.

And generally, yes the game has issues, but now the same people you give Street Fighter a pass not having any arcade/single player mode at launch because "it's still a great game" now complain about a shoddy launch of a small indie-team developed game.

Ugh.

I can see that many of you folks are fed up with the pixelated look of indie side scrollers, still I think everyone should give this game a try, especially since it's free. With friends it's hilarious fun and you forget about the pixel asthetics after the first level.
I truly wish there wore more games like this (and yes I'd prefer modern graphics too) but instead we get one eyecandy-cookie-cutter-crap-game-sellyouDLClater-payfest after another from the "big guys" and we gobble it up.

I'm sure the performance issues will be fixed and I'm sure even the toughest "hater" of this game would have a great time playing it coop with three friends. Especially if you're aged 25+

But of course, everyone's got their opinions,
this was mine.

It's a cool game and very addictive. I always want to do just one more level. As others have pointed out though, the performance issues are very annoying. The framerate slows down to a crawl when things get busy (have I got a ps4 or a SNES at home?) and the short lag or whatever it is at the beginning of each stage is terrible. There's one covert operation that I simply cannot do coz I always get stuck for two or three seconds and the level requires you to move across the screen before everything collapses. Hope they patch it soon!

Yea, the farther you get in the game the more a smooth performance matters. I basically stopped playing now, waiting for the inevitable patch, as I don't want to get too fed up with frustration.

However, even though I'm slightly annoyed by the performance and even though the presentation doesn't appeal to me, the game is pretty good. Don't judge the book by its cover, Tasuki.
