Topic: Overwatch - OT

So apparently some Blizzcon news has been leaked already.

Overwatch Blizzard's first new IP will be coming to PS4 (as well as Xbox One).

I am quite excited for this news as when this game was first announced I thought it would do good on a console.

Neat, reminds me of Battleborn but probably better.

It's basically Blizzard's version of Team Fortress.

@Tasuki: Ah, I see... Never played Team Fortress before, is it any good?

It does look cool but I wonder if you can play it solo because I won't be able to if you need friends to play alongside with.

@adf86: From what I have seen is its group play but you don't need people to play. They probably will do something like Heroes of the Storm where if you don't have a group they will randomly put you in one.

So according to Blizzard there will be no cross platform play on any of the systems due to them feeling PC players will have a slight advantage using a mouse and keyboard. Also interesting enough I guess a console version was planned from day one.

@adf86: As @Tasuki said there will probably be matchmaking in the game so that teams always have the required numbers for a match, most games will be made up of random people put together I'd imagine. Also you could always buddy up with someone from Push? There's bound to a few from the community that will be playing this

Preorder are now open for Overwatch, and you get all kinds of goodies with it. Some may not be of interest unless you play other games by Blizzard like WoW or Diablo or Hearthstone but for Overwatch you get some character skins. The trailer explains what all you get.

Aesthetically this game does look way better than Battleborn but I think I'm gonna skip this game since it seems to be PvP only.

Not quite sure what you mean by that, but it is a team based shooter after all.

@Tasuki: Hmm… I haven't come across anything that says that it has co-op or a campaign mode which was why I was under the impression that it was PvP only.

@WanderingBullet: Well yeah that's cause its a team based shooter. You are put into a team where you and three others complete and objective. It's not about kills it's about completing an objective.

Like one map one team has to protect a vehicle while the other team tries to stop it from getting to its destination. Which ever team completes it's objective first is the winner. There is no story mode if that's what you mean, it's not a CoD clone.

I'm more than sick of teambased shooters, I'd rather have Heroes of the Storm on PS4.

Would be nice or even Hearthstone, but for whatever reason I guess it's not happening.

@Tasuki: It's been all Fallout all of the time so I'm ashamed to admit I haven't really followed this announcement as much as I should. Will be starting to catch back up over the coming days, though.
