Topic: PS2 chip in Phat PS3 to PS3 super-slim

I currently have a backwards compatible CECHA01 PS3 and a PS3 Super-Slim, there's just one problem. The Fat PS3 is missing it's original Blu Ray drive, meaning I can't use it.

After some brainstorming, could it be possible to take the PS2 chip from my CECHA01 PS3 and mod it into my PS3 Super-Slim so it could play PS2 games?

@Hoorah Nope. But why not just take the Blu-ray drive from the slim and put it into the OG PS3?

@Genrou You are aware it's a SUPER Slim, right? (Just need to make sure you know which PS3 I'm talking about so I don't accidently end up having to buy more PS3's)

@Hoorah Right. I would think it would be easier just to swap harddrives then what you are asking.

@Genrou Swapping hard drives? what would that do?

@Hoorah Also, I have A LOT of save data on my Super slim

@Hoorah Err not harddrives, Blu-ray drives sorry bout that.

@Genrou How would I do that, the Super-Slim is top loading

I am not sure as I am not tech savvy enough but maybe check around on YouTube. Either that or just grab yourself a cheap PS2 to play PS2 games.
