Topic: Help buying game?

So I wanted to get fatal frame for the ps3, but cause I’m in the uk, I had to make an American account, and put a giftcard on that account. But when I went to get the game, it said I needed to add a card or PayPal account? I can’t add a card, cause my card isnt American, and it won’t let me add a PayPal account, does anyone have a solution? I definitely have enough on the online wallet, cause the game was $9.99, and the wallet says I have $10. Let me know if anyone knows any solutions

@Mole I really don’t know for sure, but one possibility is that you don’t have enough to cover the taxes. Sales tax is added on top of the price of the product at the time of purchase over here in the States, which is different as I understand it to be there in the UK where the VAT is baked into the retail price. So if something is $9.99, then it’s usually ends up being around $11 out of pocket after the tax is added. However, I have no idea how that works when buying from the UK though, because our tax rates vary by our state of residence.

Another possibility is that the PS3 store may require a card to be on file, regardless of the fact that you have sufficient funds in your account. It might just be a requirement across the board, even if it’s not going to charge anything on it. Some retailers are like that.

So perhaps a workaround could be to get a U.S. VISA gift card which can function as a credit card and load it with like $5 on that account. I have no idea if that’s even possible to get one over there though. There’s kiosks full of those things at every Wal-Mart or grocery store here.

If the issue is simply just not having enough to cover the tax, you could load another $5 PSN gift card onto your account and that would cover it.

@Mole Yeah, it'll be the tax. If you check the price when the game is in your cart, you'll see that it's over $10.
