Topic: The Division Beta - PushSquare Brave Test Subjects Edition

Goooooooooooood morning dear fellow PushSquarers!

Ok, maybe I'm a bit excited. let me tone it down. The day of the Beta is upon us, and I'm craving a shootout since Destiny has become a tumbleweed playground, and I feel like shooting someone in the face.

So come together, I hereby name this the official Beta Group thread for our community.

Anyone has got word on groups and party limits etc? Update us with them news because I'll only be around after 5 PM UK time.

Funny thing is, this IS Ubisoft, I'm expecting a massive screw up of some sort already, but hey, innocent until proven guilty I guess, Syndicate was not that bad.

Max party size of 4 apparently according to xbots forums. I'm not sure exactly when I'll be on but going to try and remote play on my vita at lunch...then sporadically throughout this evening depending on my girlfriends activities (might recommend she goes to see her family for a bit haha)

I logged on early was going to be the first game of the day but does not start till lunchtime

I logged in earlier too, I left it to download overnight and just wanted to check that it was up and running.

Just logged on, Im at the character creation menu atm. So far so good, no problems getting into the game.

I'm at work and won't be on until 8pm UK time, what a noob

Just did a bit of remote play during my lunch break at work and have to say I'm impressed so far...obviously some of the depth in character creation and skills is locked down but environments looked nice, gameplay was fun. Dialogue is a bit cheesy but don't care. Overall good first impressions...and they have remapped vita remote play controls so it's easy to play

I think I finished the story portion of the Beta. Only thing left to do is some exploration and entering the Dark Zone. Not sure if I like the idea that the best gears can only be obtained from the Dark Zone, though as I don't really enjoy playing PVP in general. Other than that, I thought the environments looked pretty good (considering the downgrade) and the gameplay was decent as well.

@iDangerMouse_: Thats odd that servers are down but yeah, I think I saw you playing Division one minute and Assassin's Creed the next.

I come into playing this game after only watching the trailer and ordering it on that basis. I have enjoyed the experience so far I have wondered around parts of the city looting buildings shooting people, finding weapon and other upgrades. Completed the part of the story you can complete I like the combat its not just run and gun you need to use cover and tactics. Its not always easy to kill an enemy which I like and shooting them on different parts of the body causes them to slow down, limp etc. I am now in the danger zone and just got killed. I can see why Ubisoft have gone for the darkness and greys it suits the game it has the feeling that hope is lost. As an early poster said the dialogue can be cheesy which I agree with but its something I can live with. Overall after just a few hours playing I am glad I ordered the game as the beta has been enjoyable.

The servers seem to be fine I just logged back in. Does anyone know if your progress with your character will carry over to the games full release ?

@dryrain: It won't sadly.

Tip for all of you: never go into the Dark Zone alone. Every time I've tried to be a lone wolf in there, a group has pounced on me

@dryrain: I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that your progression won't carry over to the full release....

@Anchorsam_9: How is the dark zone? I'm concerned it's going to be too volatile and consequently not that enjoyable.

One thing I did not realise until just now in the Danger Zone other players can shoot you and steal your items which you have picked up. There I was hanging out waiting for an extraction and bang get shot. The good thing though if you are quick enough you can go back and collect your loot where you last died.

@mrobinson91: As long as you're with a group you should be fine, just never go in alone or you'll be destroyed. It's fun though

@anchormansam yeah I just realised that it is like the wildwest there.

What weapons are people using? I am trying out the shotgun for close up kills and sniper for longer range seems to work ok.

I accidently shot someone in the Dark Zone when I was trying to kill a bad guy which meant I was turned rogue then people shot me. So you do have to be careful where you shoot.

Thats a bummer. Is there a matchmaking option for the Dark Zone?

Soloed the Dark Zone earlier, looking for NPC enemies and loot. Whenever I see a group of players I just took cover until the coast is clear. XD Also, came across a few players which weren't hostile, so that was nice. In the end, I managed to killed around 5-6 purple NPCs, and died once.
