Long story short, my ps4 was recently dropped. While the casing popped off most damage seems to be cosmetic. (Even the disc drive which had a disc in it at the time seems to be working fine) The only issue I have noticed is with the dualshock connectivity. At a small distance the dualshock will disconnect and when it is connected only half the inputs at best are recognized by the console. It is not an issue with my controllers since none of them were damaged and I tested with multiple controllers. So the main question I have is WHAT PART IN THE PS4 CONNECTS TO THE DUALSHOCK?
Note: I'm pretty sure all of my controllers are connected via bluetooth in the settings menu since i could never seem to successfully connect them via cable or any other method.
I would like to save myself the money of buying a new ps4 if i can just replace 1 or 2 parts. I have a CUH 1115A if that helps.
@RandyCapper I'd suspect it is something along the lines of a Bluetooth receiver. Had a quick search on Google and looks like there's an ifixit guide to replacing it. It does say WiFi receiver in the instructions but Bluetooth in the title, maybe theyre the same thing? It does look like the repair requires souldering though
@RandyCapper no problem, good luck. I have no idea if it's the same part but maybe the WiFi would be affected too if it was? Might be worth checking if you have connectivity issues with WiFi as well as bluetooth
