Hi all.
I've had a psn account for years which I've shared with my son for years. I had a ps5 which mysteriously disappeared about a year ago ( his room 🙄 ) we've both bought games that we're interested in - me psvr2 - he has loads & lots of friends, game saves etc I've now bought a ps5 pro so I can play my vr games but can't seem to use them at the same time as he is using the old ps5 , playing different games but still on the shared account 🤐 is there a way of making a new account for one of us , subscribing to psn but still keeping what we've individually purchased?? I don't want to duplicate the games - just he has his , i have mine so no having them twice but only paying once so nothing underhand 🙄
@Eaglepete I'm almost certain there won't be a way to "split" an account, I'm afraid.
As you say, you can sign into a PSN account on multiple consoles, though, and therefore both have access to all the games on the account. There are some rules on who can play what at what time.
Given that VR games aren't super hot right now, I would maybe suggest getting a new/2nd account and picking up all the VR games you want (again) when they are on sale. Obviously not ideal to buy them again but there aren't any other options to "move" them from the other account.
Look up "console sharing and offline play" There might be a solution in there, somewhere, if you set it up on both consoles with the same main account and one of you then uses the child account when the other is using main. But there might also be sacrifices to be made in relation to game saves, friends lists etc. It might offer some workable solution, but i'm not certain.
