Topic: Help with "appear offline" glitch

Every time I turn my PS5 on my online status is set to "appear offline". Not only that, but changing it to "online" manually doesn't work. My PS5 is connected to the internet via a wired connection.
I did some research online and tried a few solutions, but none of them worked. Here is what I already tried:

Disable internet connection for a few seconds and then enable it again

Sign in to my account via PC and then turn the PS5 on

Same as above but with the PSApp

When signing in, pressing options and choosing "log in as online"

Turning the power off and on again

Turning the router off and on again

Changing the MTU to 1473 (also tried lower values)

Changing to a wireless connection

Booting the console in safe mode and restoring default settings

So, yeah, it's a long list, I know, but none of that solved the problem. Any idea on what I might try to fix this issue?

@edufrma This happened to me a couple weeks ago. Fortunately I just turned my console off and then turned it back on again, and I was fine. It's obviously a problem on Sony's servers.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance, but maybe just wait and see if it fixes itself over the weekend?

Yeah, it's been happening for a while now. It actually fixed itself twice... only to return the following day. I did some googling and it looks like I'm not the only one affected, but still...

I did, but they told me to restore the default settings, which didn't help.

I guess the only true solution would be a patch...
It's also worth noting that this only started happening after I had changed my status to appear offline once. Before that, it was all smooth sailing. Now, I'm stuck with it...

Hello again. I believe I found a solution and want to leave it here, just in case someone else has the same problem. I set the DNS servers manually instead of leaving them to auto which, at least so far, seems to have fixed the problem.

I used google's own DNS servers, but I believe there are many others that could have been used as well.
