Topic: account locked behind 2sv, customer support no help

for the past week or so ive been fighting with ps customer support over regaining control of my psn account. it has escalated to the point to where almost as soon as i enter live chat, they give me the boot. i havent been irate. i havent been unreasonable, in fact, the past few times ive absolutely killed them with kindness. the problem is this. one day i was randomly logged out of psn and lost access to all my games regardless of whether i was connected to psn or not (the lock symbol). i still know the username and password, the problem is that i cant get past the two step verification screen because i have no means of acquiring the infamous verification app and i have little to no understanding of how the entire process works. im not sure if you have to have a smartphone or if you can even download it on a mac or pc. even so, the only smartphone i have has no service and cannot even access google play to download it because its so old. to make matters worse. my mac is so old that itunes wont even connect to the mac app store anymore. there is a lot that i am not mentioning here to try and keep this post from turning into a novel but i am at a loss of how to proceed. i cant scratch the feeling that its just wrong that theyre keeping me from my own account and thousands of dollars worth of digital purchases. every time i try to verify that i am the owner of the account they claim that i havent given them enough information (im assuming i answer one or more questions wrong). i am indeed the only official owner of the account (unless my account has been compromised which i am beginning to suspect). i never wanted two step verification but now i am locked behind this wall and i have a ginormous paper weight sitting on my countertop and i cant even do a damn thing with it. seriously, i need some assistance on how to proceed from here. i really dont wanna take them to court if i dont have to but ive exhausted so many other options that i am beginning to think that i may have to go down that road. any comments would be appreciated. thanks in advance.
