Topic: 5.1 Surround Sound on Kena: Bridge of Spirits Doesn't Work Properly - Help!

I wanted to raise what I believe to be a technical issue with regards to the audio mix for Kena.

I have been using a 5.1 surround sound system whilst playing the game on a PlayStation 5 system. From memory, at launch Kena was working correctly, with all channels being utilised and was dynamic.

However, since the latest few patches, audio seems to have switched to static multi stereo only.
4 of the 5 speakers are being used (front left and right & back left and right), but the centre channel has nothing feeding into it at all.

As a result, dialogue sounds rather muffled and also the bass through my subwoofer becomes really overpowered, especially during combat sequences.

I have checked with other PS5 games and 4K/Blurays movies to make sure it wasn't my system itself, but everything is working correctly with those.
I also switched from Linear PCM to Dolby, just in case Ember Labs's mix was a Dolby mix, but the results remained the same.

I have seen a few forums with consumers having the same issue. I did write to Ember Lab's support but not heard back.

Sadly it's completely put me off playing the game because the sound is so strange and feels like i'm underwater.
Anyone having the same issue? Or know of a fix?

I don’t have a centre channel so I’m just on 4.1, and the game honestly has the best audio work I’ve seen…heard… its really impressive in general.

May be different if the receiver wasn’t trying to send dialog to centre channel.

@Mega-Gazz thanks for the reply.
Ember labs got back to me last Friday and said it was indeed a bug and they fixed it in patch 1.10! 👍
Now it's back to sounding amazing! And I played the whole game over the weekend 😊

I had to switch it to Linear PCM. I had Dolby as the priority, and I was only getting 4.1 instead of 7.1, and it sounded mono to me as every speaker was the same. I have since switched to Linear PCM and I am getting through all speakers along with sound movement
