The Game Awards Quiz Results

Earlier in the week, we asked the Push Square community to predict The Game Awards 2021. You lot were presented with a 30 yes or no question quiz, which was designed to crack a smile ahead of Geoff Keighley's big show. Still, the results make for an interesting read...

Let's see how you did!

Question 1: Will Geoff Keighley be wearing a suit alongside some impressive (and expensive) looking sneakers? (2,222 votes)

95% Yes
5% No

Correct!

Geoff Keighley did indeed wear some impressive (and expensive) looking sneakers as he hosted the event. They were nice and sparkly!

Question 2: Will PlayStation boss Jim Ryan appear on stage at any point during the show? (2,170 votes)

28% Yes
72% No

Correct!

We're off to a good start here. PlayStation didn't really have much of a presence at this year's show, and Jim Ryan was nowhere to be seen.

Question 3: Will Jim Ryan appear alongside Xbox boss Phil Spencer on stage at any point during the show? (2,139 votes)

15% Yes
85% No

Correct!

No Jim Ryan and no Phil Spencer. Given how rough the last two years have been thanks to the pandemic, we thought there might have been some kind of sentimental showing from the Big Three — but it never happened.

Question 4: Will a new PlayStation 5 exclusive game be announced at The Game Awards 2021? (2,173 votes)

75% Yes
25% No

Wrong!

There goes your perfect record! Again, PlayStation didn't have much of a presence at the event, and none of Sony's first-party studios were in action aside from Guerrilla Games, which pushed a stunning new Horizon Forbidden West trailer.

Question 5: Will Final Fantasy XVI get a release date at The Game Awards 2021? (2,107 votes)

28% Yes
72% No

Correct!

Your cynicism has served you well with this question. Square Enix is clearly keen on making us wait for Final Fantasy XVI, which has been absent from gaming events for an annoyingly long time now.

Question 6: Will The Last of Us' new Factions multiplayer finally be revealed during The Game Awards 2021? (2,069 votes)

35% Yes
65% No

Correct!

Cynicism wins again! The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann was in attendance, but there was no mention of Naughty Dog's long-developed multiplayer project.

Question 7: Will Sting be wearing a hat during his musical performance at The Game Awards 2021? (1,945 votes)

60% Yes
40% No

Wrong!

Bloody Sting, eh? The singer-songwriter opened The Game Awards proper with his song from Arcane, but he wasn't wearing anything on his head. We had definitely envisioned a beanie, but he was dressed too formal for that.

Question 8: Will Hideo Kojima appear on stage during The Game Awards 2021? (2,003 votes)

55% Yes
45% No

Wrong!

Nearly! Hideo Kojima did appear at The Game Awards, but not in person and not on stage. He only showed up on the big screen, no doubt to the disappointment of Geoff, who we all know is his biggest fan.

Question 9: Will Hideo Kojima's next game be announced at The Game Awards 2021? (1,970 votes)

48% Yes
52% No

Correct!

Oooh, this was close. Thankfully, our more cynical readers dragged your decision over the line, and in the right direction. Hideo Kojima trolled us all during the show, when instead of announcing his next game, he introduced Guillermo del Toro so that the Mexican director could talk about his new film.

Question 10: Will a new Persona game be announced at The Game Awards 2021? (1,918 votes)

17% Yes
83% No

Correct!

We could be really harsh with this question, but we're going to give you lot the benefit of the doubt. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax was announced for new platforms during the show, but it's not what we would call a "new Persona game", given that it first released over eight years ago.

Question 11: Will Geoff say the word "Amazon" within the first 10 minutes of The Game Awards 2021? (Pre-show not included.) (1,884 votes)

65% Yes
35% No

Wrong!

Perhaps shockingly, Geoff did not say "Amazon" within the first 10 minutes of the show, which was largely taken up by Kena: Bridge of Spirits winning Best Independent Game and Hellblade II's "gameplay" trailer.

Question 12: Will Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart win Game of the Year? (1,935 votes)

21% Yes
79% No

Correct!

It was never going to happen, was it? In fact, Ratchet & Clank didn't win a single award on the night.

Question 13: Will Capcom announce a new game at The Game Awards 2021? (1,868 votes)

65% Yes
35% No

Wrong!

Nope, no new games from Capcom — but we can see why most of you thought something might be announced. The publisher's been on a roll for so long, and for most of this year, it's felt like its next big reveal was just around the corner.

Question 14: Will the rumoured Chrono Cross remaster be revealed at The Game Awards 2021? (1,804 votes)

56% Yes
44% No

Wrong!

Nope, didn't happen! Rumours about this remaster have been doing the rounds for months now, and it probably does exist, but Square Enix didn't — or couldn't — cram it into The Game Awards.

Question 15: Will we see a Lady Dimitrescu (Resident Evil Village) cosplayer during The Game Awards 2021? (1,810 votes)

64% Yes
36% No

Wrong!

Cosplay was non-existent during The Game Awards this year, and although we did see Lady Dimitrescu's English voice and motion capture actress Maggie Robertson accept the award for Best Performance, she wasn't in costume.

Question 16: Will the word 'Bloodborne' be said during The Game Awards 2021? (1,804 votes)

40% Yes
60% No

Correct!

Still no sign of a Bloodborne sequel or remaster, sadly. Will it ever happen?

Question 17: Will a Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, or 3 remake be announced at The Game Awards 2021? (1,783 votes)

34% Yes
66% No

Correct!

All the rumours of a supposed Metal Gear Solid revival have yet to actually amount to anything, and The Game Awards presented the same old story.

Question 18: Will Knack 3 be announced at The Game Awards 2021? (1,766 votes)

18% Yes
82% No

Correct!

This was obviously a joke question, but we do appreciate the 18% of readers who are clearly aching for an all-new adventure with Knack.

Question 19: Will God of War Ragnarok get a release date at The Game Awards 2021? (1,785 votes)

45% Yes
55% No

Correct!

God of War Ragnarok was missing in action at The Game Awards 2021, unfortunately. As much as we'd like to see another glimpse of Kratos' next game, Sony won't be in any rush to show it.

Question 20: Will the rumoured Assassin's Creed Valhalla DLC be revealed at The Game Awards 2021? (1,730 votes)

71% Yes
29% No

Wrong!

Given how recent these rumours were, it's not surprising to see most of you voting yes on this question. But no, there was no mention of Eivor at the event.

Question 21: Will Josef Fares say something slightly inappropriate on stage during The Game Awards 2021? (1,679 votes)

73% Yes
27% No

Correct!

It Takes Two director Josef Fares legged it on stage right at the end of the event, in order to accept the award for Game of the Year. And yes, he repeated his infamous "f*ck the Oscars" line just before breaking into his speech. Inevitable!

Question 22: Will Tekken 8 or Street Fighter 6 be announced at The Game Awards 2021? (1,654 votes)

27% Yes
73% No

Correct!

With both games heavily rumoured to be in development, we thought this would be a potentially tricky question — but you lot didn't take the bait.

Question 23: Will Hogwarts Legacy get a release date at The Game Awards 2021? (1,712 votes)

47% Yes
53% No

Correct!

Another close call, but you got it right. Hogwarts Legacy remains in the shadows, for now.

Question 24: Will a new Splinter Cell game be announced at The Game Awards 2021? (1,661 votes)

32% Yes
68% No

Correct!

Ubisoft has let us down so many times on the Splinter Cell front that we're not at all surprised at the votes for this question. The wait for Sam Fisher's return continues...

Question 25: Will there be a trailer for the new Mass Effect at The Game Awards 2021? (1,648 votes)

27% Yes
73% No

Correct!

The next Mass Effect is clearly still a long way off, and so its absence at The Game Awards doesn't come as a huge shock.

Question 26: Will Geoff Keighley enthusiastically say the word "sick" while presenting at The Game Awards 2021? (1,670 votes)

84% Yes
16% No

Wrong!

Geoff Keighley didn't once say the word "sick" during the show. A tricky question, but Geoff's classier than that!

Question 27: Will Returnal win any awards at The Game Awards 2021? (1,696 votes)

68% Yes
32% No

Correct!

Returnal did indeed get its hands on an award, winning Best Action Game. We didn't think it'd win more awards than Ratchet, but it did!

Question 28: Will there be any kind of Cyberpunk 2077 announcement at The Game Awards 2021? (1,672 votes)

30% Yes
70% No

Correct!

2022 is shaping up to be a very important year for CD Projekt Red and Cyberpunk 2077 — and the developer obviously wants to keep its head down ahead of what will essentially be the open world RPG's re-release.

Question 29: Will the Push Square team be up until 6AM UK time covering news from The Game Awards 2021? (1,692 votes)

87% Yes
13% No

Wrong!

Believe it or not, we all went to bed around 5AM UK time — and yes, most of us were expecting to be up later than that! You can blame Geoff for this one. His event was over three hours long, but it didn't actually give us that much to write about in terms of actual gaming news.

Question 30: Will there somehow be a new Deathloop trailer at The Game Awards 2021? (1,679 votes)

39% Yes
61% No

Correct!

Phew! Deathloop didn't win as many awards as we thought it would, and — perhaps mercifully — it didn't receive any kind of new trailer.

Final Score: 20/30

Hey, that's not a bad score. A solid 20/30 for the Push Square community — pats on the back all round, and we'll hopefully see you again next year!
