Mass Effect Legendary Edition (PS4)
$5.99/£5.99 (-90%)
It took an entire generation to actually happen, but Mass Effect Legendary Edition finally gives us what we've always wanted: a remastered collection of the original Mass Effect trilogy. Commander Shepard's sci-fi escapades still hold up, with a cast of excellent characters carrying a three whole games' worth of memorable missions. Legendary Edition does a great job of bringing some much needed polish to the first Mass Effect, while also adding a welcome sheen to its sequels. An absolute must for anyone who's looking to become absorbed in a spacefaring adventure.

Metaphor: ReFantazio (PS5)
$27.99/£23.99 (-60%)
The team behind the Persona series presents its take on a fantasy RPG with Metaphor: ReFantazio. Structured very similarly to its stablemates, this game has you exploring a realm filled with monsters, monarchy, and magic, and is just as stylish too, with gorgeous presentation throughout. Presenting players with one of the best RPG stories in recent memory, engaging combat, and rewarding gameplay systems, this is yet another banger from Atlus.
Mortal Kombat 1 (PS5)
$9.99/£8.99 (-80%)
Mortal Kombat 1 revamps the storyline of this enduring fighting game series, with all the characters you know and love reimagined in a new timeline. This makes for a brilliant (and violent) romp, turning unlikely pairs into firm allies in a high quality story mode. Once you're done with that, the game has plenty more to do: experiment with the new Kameo system; play the board game-like Invasion mode; and get a bit more lore on all the fighters in the arcade-like Tower mode. While the core fighting hasn't evolved all that much, this is still arguably the best Mortal Kombat yet, and will certainly be supported for a long time.
Need for Speed Unbound (PS5)
$6.99/£6.99 (-90%)
Developer Criterion Games once again takes charge of EA's storied racing series with Need for Speed Unbound, and it's the best one in ages. The open world is decent, but it's the fun, satisfying driving that seals the deal, while some cartoonish flourishes really liven up its presentation. The push and pull of day and night events keeps the campaign charging forward, and deep customisation lets you create your dream rides. It's not perfect, but Unbound is a great effort that gets a lot of things right.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered (PS4)
$7.99/£6.99 (-80%)
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered revives the Criterion-developed cops n' robbers racer on PS4, and it's more than welcome. Though the visuals aren't the greatest nowadays, the gameplay holds up wonderfully. It's an arcade racing title through and through — high speeds, epic drifts around sweeping corners, and slow-mo crash cams make this more akin to Burnout than NFS. Still, it's a slick and highly entertaining game, whether you're chasing down racers and deploying spike strips, or running away from the police with evasive action. The Autolog system that constantly pits you against your friends is the cherry on top.
Nioh 3 (PS5)
$44.79/£41.59 (-36%)
Nioh 3 takes all the best bits from Team Ninja’s previous efforts to form its greatest action experience in a very long time. Its new open zone maps provide more ways than ever to engage with its sublime, intense combat system — even if the activities themselves are entirely unoriginal. This is a familiar feeling title for a fanbase that knows what it wants, for few franchises do hardcore action better. Nioh 3 is its latest triumph.
Persona 3 Reload (PS5)
$20.99/£19.24 (-65%)
As far as faithful remakes go, Persona 3 Reload is right up there with the best you'll find on PlayStation. The original Persona 3 is an undeniable classic, but Reload greatly improves the experience by modernising its turn-based combat and expanding its storytelling. What's more, it's an utterly gorgeous revival, boasting incredible art direction and some of the most stunning presentation you're ever likely to see in an RPG. A must for existing fans, and for newcomers, a perfect introduction to the Dark Hour.
Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army (PS5)
$29.99/£26.99 (-40%)
Raidou Remastered gives one of Atlus' most experimental PS2 outings a deserved second chance. Better described as a remake, a huge list of improvements, including a superbly reworked combat system, make this a must-try for the developer's modern audience. Raidou remains a uniquely weird and compelling action RPG, and this is its definitive form.
RoboCop: Rogue City (PS5)
$9.99/£8.74 (-75%)
A gorgeously presented first-person shooter set shortly after the events of the iconic second movie, RoboCop: Rogue City captures the soul of the series better than most licensed games. While it's a fairly rote release in terms of gameplay, side-quests with branching endings add some player agency to the experience and really help you to role-play as Officer Alex James Murphy.

Remember, you may also arbitrarily (And maybe illegally) get additional discounts depending on whether or not they like you today and if the wind blows north east on the second Tuesday in July in 1954.
I wonder if they will gradually gate off more perks, sales, exclusive content behind PS Plus. Would fit right in with the current direction of travel. £89.99, or just £59.99 with your (increasing) forever subscription.
Darwin's Paradox already £7.99 and Hell is Us £16.49. I think I might get those two
@Sonic_Phantom To be fair to them, a perk of PS Plus has always been additional discounts. That's been true since its inception over a decade ago.
@Toilet_Goat Same here, been waiting for a decent discount on Hell is Us for awhile
They can stuff their sale. I have all the first page on disc. Not reading the rest.
@get2sammyb true, suppose I just felt like getting a 'where does it end' off my chest with all the recent developments!
Early access to be able to give PSN more money... on digital licences... that won't sell out... what a benefit...
Sony must think we're stupid. Maybe we are.
Maybe in the all-digital future you'll have to be subscribed to PS+ to buy anything at all. Could be 'justified' on the basis that maintaining those servers costs something, so you should have to pay to be able to access the shop. And the defenders will point out that there were costs associated with travelling to physical shops to buy discs, e.g. petrol/bus fare/bicycle tyre rubber/shoe leather/shipping/Amazon Prime, so why shouldn't Sony be able to charge people just to be able to buy.
I already own (bought these, some of them at least, month to years ago)some of these games, for anyone who hasn't I recommend taking advantage of these prices still (yes, I'm ps plus member) I get that the early discounts are for people like me etc. yes I'm aware of Sony's pr with us as well (currently, so I do not blame consumers for being frustrated and skeptical with Sony for the medium term).
Hell yeah. Early access to the same games that go on sale every other month. Winning.
All the ones crying about no discs are running to the ps store now with their cancelled ps plus that still has a few months left lol
sale prices seem to be going up not down
way out is not that cheap its been on sale for £5 before this
mass effect has been on sale for £5 before this
ITT - people who've never worked retail nor understand how sales work.
@trev666 Meanwhile Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is at its lowest price ever at 60% off.
It’s always the same games and always the same discount.. Nothing new to see
Oh thank you lord Sony...you are so generous to us gamers
These games were all cheaper in the steam summer sale last week.
No more business from me Sony. And I say that as an all digital buyer. Stuff your sale. Heading to GOG 😀
@chatbot You remind me of the sort of insufferable people that retail workers have to deal with regularly.
"Such a thing is cheaper elsewhere!". Cool story, go buy it there then and save us all a headache.
@MrPeanutbutterz Also itt, somebody who clearly understands the world better than us mere mortals 😉
