Grounded (PS5)

$19.99/£16.49 (-50%)

A brilliantly conceived co-op game, Grounded sees you shrunk to the size of an ant and trying to survive in your parent's backyard. You'll need to scavenge for resources, manage your vitals, and deal with all kinds of insects, like spiders and bugs.

Grow Home (PS4)

$1.99/£1.62 (-75%)

Grow Home is a gorgeous title which acts as yet another example that not all games need to be hours upon hours long. Its unique climbing mechanics make for a tense and often terrifying time, while its endearing story grounds the entire experience. There are some niggling control issues, but the stunning presentation and subtle soundtrack round things out, ultimately making for a satisfying and adorable game.

Hades (PS5)

$6.24/£4.99 (-75%)

Bored of his immortal life in the Underworld, Zagreus takes it upon himself to escape the reaches of his godly father. In the brilliant roguelike Hades, you'll aid the prince in his attempts to reach the surface, engaging in countless runs through the ever-shifting realms. With each death comes plot development, however; a story is expertly interwoven with the gameplay loop, giving you a small taste of what each character has been up to before you dive back into the dungeons once more. With slick, fast-paced combat, an endless variety of perks and power-ups to try, and an escalating challenge for those that stick around, this is a fantastic action game that makes the most of its looping structure.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure (PS5)

$25.99/£22.74 (-35%)

In a nutshell, Hello Kitty Island Adventure is a Sanrio spin on Animal Crossing, and it works rather well. It combines cosy life sim elements with more free-form exploration and puzzle solving across a large map. While there are some frustrations related to pacing, befriending each adorable creature and gradually improving the island still satisfies.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (PS5)

$20.99/£22.49 (-58%/-50%)

Horizon Zero Dawn is very much one of Sony’s standout projects of the past ten years, and this superb remaster by Nixxes puts it among the best looking games on the PS5. While the side-quests and supporting content don’t quite match up to sequel Forbidden West, the more focused story is arguably better than its successor, and it’s presented almost flawlessly in this remastered format.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged (PS5)

$7.49/£6.74 (-85%)

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged is a highly polished, fast-paced, fun, and robust racing sequel that builds upon its predecessor in all the right ways. Addressing almost all our criticisms of the previous title by adding impressive core mechanic modifications in the form of jumps, dashes, and new terrains, removing loot boxes, and adding obstacle immunity skills, Milestone has created a fantastic follow-up arcade racer to be reckoned with.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 (PS5)

$41.99/£34.99 (-30%)

Jurassic World Evolution 3 is exactly what it needs to be. There's new additions to the formula set by its predecessors that enhance the experience rather than detract from it, and it accentuates what the series did well before to new heights. Dinosaurs are the name of the game, and whether you're here to help create dino families or if you just want to see a giant lizard eating the clientele, this third instalment delivers.

Kill Knight (PS5)

$7.49/£5.79 (-50%)

Kill Knight is a brutal twin-stick arcade game that plays like DOOM's sugar-crazed nephew. You descend through the various stages of hell, fending off seemingly impossible numbers of enemies with a pair of guns, a sword, and a dash. It's blisteringly fast and rewards skilful yet aggressive play, gradually opening up new abilities, equipment, and higher difficulties. This is a blistering, relentless force of a game to really test your skills.

LEGO DC Super-Villains (PS4)

$5.99/£4.49 (-90%/-91%)

LEGO DC Super-Villains is among the best LEGO games to date. Tread the unfamiliar waters of villainy in a compelling tale that is full of vibrant, trademark LEGO charm and topped off with fabulous voice acting — long gone are the days of grunts and muffled movie clips. Enjoy more of the same stellar LEGO-style gameplay from the perspective of a diverse range of villains, each unique and fun to play. Seeing a fully customisable character at the forefront of the story that can be enjoyed both co-op and solo sets a real milestone for the franchise while further accentuating the creativity of this LEGO title.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (PS5)

$20.99/£17.99 (-70%)

With the best turn-based gameplay, the biggest and best cast of characters, and the most gripping story in the series so far, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is comfortably the greatest Yakuza game to date. Ichican and Kiryu hit up the new destination of Hawaii in search of the former's long-lost mother, but their quest really is just the tip of the iceberg. Improved combat makes fights more engaging than ever, upgraded graphics bring new life to classic locations like Kamurocho, and deep and fascinating characters both new and old mean you won't want to stop playing until the credits roll. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth really is RGG Studio at its peak.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion (PS5)

$23.99/£19.99 (-20%)

Marvel Cosmic Invasion does little to surprise, but it executes excellently on its retro beat-‘em-up ambitions. Depth perception can be a problem, but we like how the tag-team format gives the game a bit more of a chaotic feel, especially during local and online co-op sessions. And we also appreciate how each superhero handles slightly differently, adding a lot of replay value to a brawler that already has a relatively robust content offering.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics (PS4)

$24.99/£19.99 (-50%)

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is an essential release if you’re after one of the most prolific parts of fighting game history. The museum mode is a treat, and the games themselves seem to be arcade-perfect conversions, apart from MvC 1 (which should hopefully be fixed in a patch given it’s fine in the PC release). While some bonus features from the console versions of these games would’ve been nice, it’s still undeniably a great collection of titles.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5)

$29.39/£34.99 (-58%/-50%)

Insomniac Games delivers an ultra-fun sequel in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Refining pretty much everything that came before while delivering another rollicking superhero story, this is about as solid a follow-up as you could hope for. While it'll be fairly familiar if you've played the other games, new features tip it over the edge. The Web Wings are a huge boon for traversal, combat has been smartly refined, and the side content is more meaningful. It's a real crowd-pleaser, and is another shiny jewel in Sony's PS5 crown.

Metaphor: ReFantazio (PS5)

$34.99/£29.99 (-50%)

The team behind the Persona series presents its take on a fantasy RPG with Metaphor: ReFantazio. Structured very similarly to its stablemates, this game has you exploring a realm filled with monsters, monarchy, and magic, and is just as stylish too, with gorgeous presentation throughout. Presenting players with one of the best RPG stories in recent memory, engaging combat, and rewarding gameplay systems, this is yet another banger from Atlus.

Metro Exodus (PS5)

$4.49/£3.74 (-85%)

4A Games' post-apocalyptic adventure Metro Exodus feels like it was meant for PS5, with silky smooth performance, great looking ray-traced graphics, and complete DualSense functionality. While some flaws of the original release do persist — those accents! — there's a lot to like about this game on Sony's current-gen system. Featuring loads of tense story moments and some super atmospheric exploration, this train ride through the Russian wasteland makes for a memorable journey.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind (PS5)

$19.24/£16.49 (-45%)

While issues we have with the combat bring it down a bit, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind ultimately succeeds in delivering a nostalgic dose of fun that fans of the franchise are going to love. It's not the best beat-'em-up in recent years, but its clear reverence for the source material, variety of stages, and well-pitched presentation make it a real feel-good game.
