PS Plus Essential's Monthly Games for January 2024 Available Now on PS5, PS4 1

Happy new year, everyone! The next 12 months will no doubt be stuffed with brilliant new games (just the first quarter is looking nuts), but if you missed some older titles, PS Plus Essential's monthly selection of games will keep you busy. Sony is kicking off 2024 with a strong lineup for January, and the trio is available right now.

The three games are ready to rock in Europe, and will be rolling out in other regions in the coming hours. As a reminder, this month's selection includes rat-infested sequel A Plague Tale: Requiem (PS5), schlocky third-person shooter Evil West (PS5, PS4), and shape-shifting action RPG Nobody Saves the World (PS5, PS4). All three are well-liked games, and they each offer something very different.

We polled you lot to get your thoughts on January's PS Plus trifecta, and the majority of you are very happy with the selection. A Plague Tale: Requiem is the game our readers are looking forward to playing most. Will you be playing Focus Entertainment's rodent-heavy adventure first, or are you prioritising one of the others? FFX and Resi 4 VR, followed by Gaiden and Infinite Wealth, will keep me going for so long that I really regret renewing my Plus now.

These aren’t going to change my mind. I know others seem happy, and good for them, but I really dislike stealth games, and Evil West looks like something I’d only play if I didn’t have 2000 other games in my backlog. I’m most likely to play, Nobody Saves the World as a small palette cleanser.

Edit: OK, I tried Nobody Saves the World and it’s very good. Especially as a game I can just play for 20 minutes, here and there, while lying in bed on the Portal.
