Both of Final Fantasy 16's expansions have been officially announced in one trailer. The first, titled Echoes of the Fallen, is out right now on PS5 — which is one hell of a shadow drop. The second, titled The Rising Tide, arrives in spring 2024. As if next year's first few months weren't already busy enough!

You can buy an 'Expansion Pass' that includes both DLCs at a discounted price of $24.99 / £19.99, or you can nab them separately. Echoes of the Fallen is just $9.99 / £7.99 by itself, however, so we're left assuming that The Rising Tide will be more expensive — at least $15 / £13.

Both expansions feature new storylines — which take place before the main game's ending — new battles, new equipment, and new, explorable dungeons. What's more, if you snag Echoes of the Fallen or the aforementioned Expansion Pass, you unlock the Buster Sword — the big old blade used by Cloud Strife in Final Fantasy 7. We're not sure it suits Clive's style, but it's a nice bonus.
