Sony has shared an early heads up that its mammoth PS Store summer sale will get underway next Wednesday, 19th July 2023. The firm is teasing "blazingly hot discounts on thousands of games across PS5 and PS4", so if you've been waiting on something in particular to get a price drop, it may finally happen next week. At the very least, save your coins until then and see what's on offer.
The summer sale will take place in two stages; some deals expire on 2nd August 2023 and then others two weeks later on 16th August 2023. As such, if you spot a hot offer you like the look of, you might as well buy it there and then to save any disappointment down the road. Fingers crossed for Dusk Divers 2! I literally just searched it to see if it was on sale.
I hope Melty Blood: Type Lumina is in there! I've been meaning to play it for a while now.
Can’t wait to see the games in my wishlist discounted at the same price as they are in every other sale.
My backlog says "I'm fine thanks". But we all know I will find something, at least if they add the few missing PSVR2 games I want, like Hubris and Red Matter 2

Hopefully, it's not just the same games that usually are on sale. There are a few games I've been holding out on.
One of these would be nice:
Nier Automata, Cat Quest, Dredge, Sifu, Disco Elysium, A Space for the Unbound, Tunic
Hopefully some new deals and not the same regurgitated deals.
Failing that a couple of VR games to at least match their all time lows.
Virtual virtual reality and I expect you to die.
And the one about smashing hotel rooms....I forgot its title.

I’m not that tempted to buy anything. My backlog is enormous already and Starfield (and Forza) is around the corner which will probably keep me occupied for most of the year.
Only with some REAL good prices for RE Village or 4 (not the sale prices we see every month) or a ridiculous price for Dead Space I might strike.
Hopefully Dead Space will get a decent discount the sales have been poor recently just the same games at the same prices in every sale.

Hopefully Trails of Cold Steel 1 will be added to the Summer Sale so the game can be on sale again for like 19.99 or maybe a little lower like 9.99

FF16 is kind of making me want to play Hogwarts next though, just for the look of the game and to be able to explore the castle. But I have PS plus extra stuff I want to play as well, and some other crap I bought 😬

I had to laugh at the store advertising exclusive savings on Star Wars Jedi Survivor and then it was like £52. The sales haven’t been as deep in the PS5 days to be honest.
So, Sony will just have the same sale prices on same games as they have been having for the last 6 months? I still remember their fantastic flash sales that they used to have. At one point, they had a $1 Flash sale in 2015 and several $5 flash sales. Their sales were crazy back then. Nothing in last couple of years even comes close anymore.

Not sure if it's just me being cynical, but I don't ever wishlist anything. For me, the more intel Sony have with regards to a game being on people's wishlist, the less likely I reckon it is to get a worthwhile discount.
I'm hoping Resident Evil 4 & any of the Project Zero games go on sale.
i liked it a few couple of years ago when the Playstation 3 PSN store had better flash sales or any sale where you could buy PSOne classics for 99 cents or even a new Playstation 3 game that went on sale cheap at 2.99 like Just Cause 2

Ugh, I hate sounding so pessimistic, but every sale this year has been mostly lacking. Games prices are inflated so much.

I only ever check to see if DLC is on sale nowadays. I've found that I've saved so much money (and my backlog) by not buying games and just playing whatever is offered in the subscription.

It'll be funny if the sale finally discounts NFS 2015 (multiplat yet fully online which obviously rules out sideloading its region-locked Windows port) for the first time since February. I had kept wallet funds for it on standby for a month or two... before pulling the trigger on the [still] platform-exclusive Sakura Wars the other day instead.😆

@ms1021 Yeah, if you can grab it on sale it’s definitely worth a go. Not amazing, but I enjoyed my time with it.
