Planning to buy DIRT 5 on the PlayStation 4 this coming 16th October? Rest easy in the knowledge that you’ll be able to upgrade your copy from PS4 to PS5 at no extra cost. That means you’ll get access to the fully optimised 120 frames-per-second build that developer Codemasters has been touting for the next-gen console.
To be extra clear, this is a free upgrade: you won’t need to buy a special edition or anything like that. Recently, Control caused a bit of controversy when it was confirmed that existing owners of the sci-fi shooter will need to buy an Ultimate Edition of the game in order to gain access to the next-gen version.

I think it's great that they allow you to do this but personally I'd rather just wait for the ps5 version
When I buy a new console I'm looking forward to having new games to play on it so don't want to spoil that by playing the game early on Ps4
Same applies to Fifa and the likes

Already preordered the Amplified edition on the PS4, we'll see if I can wait a month to play it but I doubt it lol! Game looks great so far

@Marios-love-child Has a PS5 version been confirmed for launch this year? Just wondering why anyone would go to the extra expense of printing PS5 discs if the version is identical to the PS4 copy post free upgrade...
@Max_Eckhardt Yes, the next-gen versions are arriving this year. No exact date has been set which probably means they are launch titles and they're not at liberty to say quite yet until MS/Sony give us details.
Is there an official list of games that will receive a free update on the playstation website? I would trust it a lot more than a few random tweets
Good, I hope free next-gen upgrade become the standard for other games too, unlike remedy control.
