We've known since August that a new Saints Row game is in development. It's been a long, long time since the chaotic open world series last graced us with a new entry. Saints Row IV, the last full title in the franchise, launched all the way back in 2013. Since then, we've seen it remastered on PlayStation 4, and we've seen the out of touch Agents of Mayhem attempt to fill the Saints Row-shaped hole of the current console generation.
Speaking to GamesIndustry, Koch Media CEO Klemens Kundratitz reckons Agents of Mayhem's poor performance won't have an impact on the new Saints Row game, even though the same developer, Volition, is behind it. "Saints Row is Saints Row. The two games are similar, for sure, but they're also completely different. With Volition, we have the creators of all the Saints Row games as an internal studio and they're not going to be distracted by anything else from creating our next game under this important franchise," says Kundratitz.
The CEO also confirms that the new Saints Row will be revealed at some point next year: "Saints Row is very close to our hearts, and we'll talk about it next year. For the time being, we just wanted to get the word out that it's coming and it's going to be great." We sure hope so.

I'd rather a 1-3 remaster. I loved saints row and how it escalated gradually from gta clone to US president has superpowers but it also reached a conclusion. Gat out of Hell showed you can't really do much more with it and everyone has forgotten about Agents of Mayhem.
Can we please get Cutty back from dead prez as a main voice lol.
Long as it has Troy Baker and Laura Bailey as the Male/Female voice of the Boss and keep it on the funnier side of things I'm good to go!

Boy Volition is a one trick pony. I hate when a developer bleeds one series dry. I started to get the same way with the Uncharted series.

The year is 2097. The latest saints row game is to be released to an audience of dozens. Empires have risen and fallen. The world decimated by climate change and war. Of the millions who survived such tribulation, one thing unites them all.
None of them give the remotest toss about Johnny Gat.
I'm hoping they reboot after 2.
Never played the first game and four never interested me with Johnny Gat and all the weird stuff. However SR2 and SR3 were lots of fun. SR2 is one of my favorite PS3 games.
Take some of 2 and 3 mixed in with some new, dump Johnny Gat, and a new Saints Row game could be fun.
I dunno agents of mayhem made me think anyone talented must be long gone, I'd be real cautious about a new saints row.
I Would Like To See. The New Saints Row Have Both Stilwater And Steelport Cities, And Return To The Original Format Like Saints Row 2. Just The Way It Was — Because Saints Row 2 Was THE Best Saints Row Game.
Please Return To The Way It Was. Put Saints Row 2 And 3 Together, With Both Cities - Stilwater And Steelport — Keep All The New And Original Characters, And Saints Row 5 Will Be A Huge Success. And Please, No Superpowers!
ONE More Thing. The New Saints Row Should Work With ALL The Next Generation Consoles — PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, PS5, & Xbox Scarlet. PS3 And Xbox 360 Should Be Put Into Consideration, Also
All I request is no super powers. Just make a big fun world to play in.

Saints row 2 and 3 still the best would love to play them again on ps4 I have 3 for switch but would like to have at least nearly all of them on ps4
if they go back to its roots otherwise not interested 1 & 2 were great games.
Saints Row 1-2 was the series pinnacle before the super power nonsense.
Johnny Gat is still one of my fave characters
Character creation and being able to create your own outfits was always one of the best things about it. They need to retain that and please not put it behind a microtransaction paywall.
My two cents would be to emulate what made Saints Row II so popular. Focus more on building your gang/criminal empire, gang politics, building relationships with your crew, and of course crazy amounts of customization. You can't outdo SR4 in terms of being over-the-top (unless you continue the narrative and fight more aliens in space... please don't), but you can make the game better with a more grounded and refined experience. Maybe you need a soft-boot to do that, maybe not, but I think I speak for most of everyone when I say however you do it, do it without powers in the mix.
@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy I hope they bring back the Latina voice actress, too. She was awesome.
