Days Gone has retained its position at the top of the UK sales charts for a second successive week, following a not too dramatic 60 per cent drop in sales week-over-week. Mortal Kombat 11's numbers dipped by a more substantial 74 per cent, so the first-party exclusive remained at the summit of the best sellers list.
Elsewhere, the charts are pretty much exactly as you'd expect them to be, with the only notable change seeing Grand Theft Auto V enjoy a significant week-over-week rise, jumping from 11th position to 5th position. The full top ten is included below.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 4th May, 2019
- Days Gone
- Mortal Kombat 11
- FIFA 19
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
- Tom Clancy's The Division 2
- Forza Horizon 4
- ANTHEM

Dat zombie fatigue tho...
Legendary GTAV & RDR2 are genres on their own, there's no other like them.
@Enuo Right?
Ok we need some cool Deacon gif guys.
Not a silly smile, more like an elegant gesture, you know..
@Jimmy_G_Buckets
The girls from Ign, Polygon and GameSpot arent rose scented? Haha
Well deserved. All the vitriol and hate across the board couldnt stop this game from selling well. Hats off BEND. Great addition to an already stellar line-up
It's a good game, certainly much better then many of the reviews would have you believe and I've had a lot of fun with it so far
I have to admit but Days Gone really took me by surprise such a great game. Enjoying it thus far.
@thefirst 100% this. Glad success isnt measured by progressive Turd Ferguson's. Cold hard cash still tells the tale
No-one mentioning Anthem slipping back in at 10? What’s that all about?!
Glad to see Days Gone doing well, I’m another one thoroughly enjoying it.
The consumer reception has been overwhelmingly positive, which I honestly expected. Think the game will have legs sales-wise.
Honestly..I just like that single player games are still relevant
Its definitely been a hit in Europe at least. I saw that two different editions of the game made the top 5 in France. It was also the best selling in Italy.
I'm picking it up tomorrow. Found it used for £40. I can't wait to see it running on ps4pro. I feel excessively smug whenever I play a Sony exclusive on a Sony machine on a Sony TV...
Sound still goes through a Denon receiver though. Lol
I've spent maybe 25 hours on it so far and I'm loving it. There are a few annoying things, don't get me wrong - the blue question marks are there for like a second, those f***ing wolves sneak up on me when I'm trying to clear out a camp silently - but the reviews are way too far out. It's no less than a 7/10. GameSpot gave it a 5/10 and that's just taking the piss.
Any word on actual sales numbers? Sony boasted about Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Spider-Man, etc. but I've heard nothing of Days Gone so far.
Please mind the language - Quintumply
Anthem re-entering the top 10 seems like the bigger deal than GTA doing it for the hundredth time lol I've seen Anthem for around £25 - £30 so I'd assume that's help boost sales and hopefully helps the matchmaking
@JimmyRowe1994 just a heads up mate if you just go in the direction of the blue question mark you will come across a thing to do even if the question mark disappears 😊
That's good,I've found Days Gone to be a really good game. Subjective I realise, but its held my interest as a large scale single player game whereas GoW and RDR2 did not.
That's it in going take the plunge and buy it, with playing far cry 5 and was creed odyssey will I find the time!
Anyone have a rough idea or game length? Sites say it's 30 hours with 6 hours of cut scenes, but looking online people are say they got 60-80 .
I'm loving Days Gone, so for me it's well justified to see it at the top for a second week.
A lot of the reviews were way wide of the mark with this one, and I'm sure from their own pre-release comments that at least a few had... how can I put it... "another agenda" in mind when deciding their scores.
Fortunately, it seems word of mouth still counts for something, and enough people have - metaphorically - printed off those reviews, bent the reviewers over, and shoved the hardcopy where the sun don't shine.
Proof once again that a review is just one person's (often biased) opinion, and that scores are largely irrelevant in these days of YouTube and streaming.
@suikoden It depends how you play. Rush through the story missions and yeah, probably about 30 hours. But if you're off exploring and looking around, far, far longer.
I'm really enjoying it now fwiw. The more I play the more I think Sammy's review was pretty spot on.
I think the 5 out of 10s and the like from GameSpot and IGN were down to poor choice of reviewers, a too early build of the game that was buggy as hell and review fatigue where it's easy to quickly get fed up of certain game mechanics and structure if you're rushing through it in order to hit a deadline.
Play this game at the right pace, and the world and story make a lot more sense.
Well got it today and played a few hours and while not a 9 or 10 it's definitely not a 5, a 7.5 for me , God knows what gamespot reviewer was smoking!
