It feels as though Days Gone has had a heck of a lot of patches, doesn't it? Bend Studio has been pushing out updates for the PlayStation 4 exclusive in quick succession, attempting to put an end to what seems to be a long list of problems. Two weeks after the last update, it's released patch 1.08, which you can download now.
The developer has outlined the details of the patch over on the Days Gone subreddit. It seems that some players have come up against an issue on the mission 'Afraid of a Little Competition?' which has been preventing progress. This update will fix that particularly nasty bug. Bend instructs that those affected might need to " move as far back to where the Bounty Collector Merchant resides and return to the mission objective to trigger the cinematic." Other fixes in a similar vein have been made to missions 'I've Had Better Days' and 'Searching for Lisa'.
Elsewhere, the issue whereby audio would drop out during cutscenes has been fixed, as well as various other bugs and crashes. Bend Studio also states it will be releasing less frequent updates for the game, but that they will offer more fixes and updates with each one. It seems the team is determined to ensure players are getting the best experience possible.

Other then maybe make the loading screens a bit quicker and get the framerate a bit more stable, there isn't much left to do now
@bruhman whatcha gonna do?
Thinking of buying this today. Is it worth full price?
Anyone else having a glitch where you beat a horde, then for reasons unknown they reappear? My mates done the sawmill about 4 times now.
I have a platinum trophy in this one, and I have encountered with only two small bugs in my playthrough so it isn't so bad as some people say .. now I am playing AC Odyssey and I have encountered a lot more bugs in first few hours there then in a whole Days Gone
@AhabSpampurse Sawmill horde is part of the mission story near the end .. so that's why it's likely, but I beat it much sooner in the game and I didn't have to beat them again in the story mission
@QualityGeezer 100% it is very solid 8/10
I've heard something about, when you upgrade your bike engine to max level or some such, that the frame rate gets really bad while riding? Still waiting this one out till it's completely patched up.
I love Days Gone, I really do! But man, the further I get, the worse the bugs I encounter. Yesterday I had a huge area in the lost lake or whatever it's called, that didn't stream in properly. No foliage, no roads and 2d sprites for trees.
@QualityGeezer **ll yeah! I got 100+ hrs under my belt so far with this game. Its absolutely playable and the bugs ive encountered doesnt ruin the total gaming experience. If you love the zombie genre, this is an absolute must have. The feeling when you got a horde in your heels...priceless!
I got stuck with the bug yesterday with the ( Afraid of a little competition? ) mission. So I went back a few days maybe to far back. Today they fixed the bug 🤢 . Aw well still love the game.
I know a lot of people hate it when games have tons of patches, but I like it when they fix issues with the game. Especially annoying bugs that need a good squashing.
Also, who doesn't like a patch that adds free content to the game?
My only issues right now is the random frame rate drops and a few textures not popping in.
Nice, my limited game time meant Id not reached that glitch described yet!
I've had some weird bugs myself, stuff like Deacon just floating in space and falling through the world. Also had one where all the freakers just disappeared as soon as I got close to them and it counted as a kill.
The audio drop was the most common bug I encountered so I'm glad they sorted that one out. I'm pretty much finished with the game though having done the main story and all. Once I started hunting hordes post-game, I realized it isn't as much fun to hunt them as I thought it would be.
I hear they're adding free content in June though, that's pretty cool.
Days gone was the buggiest game I've ever played. (I've never played bethesda's infamously buggy games so take that as you will)
It was a really good game though.
I'm roughly about half way through, and haven't had any game issues yet (touch wood) but its good to see the quick turn around from Bend Studio's with the patches.
Sigh.... should've been delayed a few months and released in a better state.
@QualityGeezer Absolutely!! You will get at least 50 to 60 hours of enjoyment with the main story and side quests. It's a bit of a slow starter. But after about the 5 hour mark it really picks up and is a blast!!
Got the platinum, superb game IMHO.
Only had a few issues with frame rate in the latter half of the game (PS4 Pro + SSD)
One horde attacked me and gradually disappeared, then I got the XP for clearing it, very bizarre... they were lunging at me and disappearing lol
@RoyalGuard Not really my friend. The reason many reviewers noted issues was because Sony released review copies almost a month before release. With patches still in the pipeline. The consumer release fixed a good majority of the issues. And most people rarely saw significant bugs. And here we are only 3 weeks later with a patch that fixes most issues. The game had been delayed enough imho.
Still having a few issues with it (frame rate drops when I'm riding in certain areas and Sprint not always working on either of the pads I have) but it's not hurt my time playing DG, been amazing so far
Fun game, unfortunately it lacks the polish and technical expertise of the previous Sony exclusives
Great game, however there’s some serious frame rate drops, especially on the pro when you reach camp settlements. Especially wizard island and Diamond lake. Game is gorgeous and fighting hordes is such a buzz. Don’t agree with a lot of review scores, I get the problems from a technical standpoint but from a gameplay and story perspective I thought it was great. Hope something else comes out of this!
