Over the weekend, Bandai Namco hosted an open beta test for its anime brawler, Jump Force. Unfortunately, many players reported connectivity problems and other issues. In fact, it became so bad that the publisher has pulled the latter two gameplay sessions entirely.
Split across four three-hour sessions, the beta allowed players to take part in online matches with a wide selection of characters, but networking problems plagued the test, forcing Bamco to take action. Although the third and fourth sessions were cancelled, the publisher has pledged to reschedule them once it has a more stable online solution in place. It has yet to announce new dates or times, but we'll keep you posted on any developments on this.
We suppose the bright side of all this is that this is happening during a beta test, not the full release. Ultimately, this type of thing is precisely what online betas are for, so even though it's frustrating now, it should result in a better game in the end. they could have at least let us play it offline instead while they fixed the issues
still like you said it's a good job it happened now and not when the game launched BUT this ALWAYS happens in Bandai's Betas, you would think they would have learnt by now to not underestimate the amount of people wanting to play their games
EG: "if you believe 1000 people are going to play your beta, then make the servers able to handle 2000" how is that hard?
@FullbringIchigo It’s more that it’s expensive rather than hard to implement. Bandai seem more like cheapskates than amateurs.
@nessisonett probably
I most certainly did experience issues. I was match making for ages. Got one game in and it seems kinda fun. The visuals were where it shined.
Roughing the beta. 😜
Yeah, I wasn’t able to try it out unfortunately.
@shonenjump86 @FullbringIchigo My kid is fighting against the AI now, 11:55AM in New York, so the offline seems to be working.
@rjejr I’ll see if I can start it up. Thanks for heads up.
@rjejr it wasn't when i tried earlier but i'll go and check
thanks for the heads up
I only got to play the beta once due to confusion on the hours and i didnt experience any problems.
I didn’t have any problems with the beta.. I was only able to play Friday night because I was busy Saturday. But I jumped right in and the match making was almost instant with no lags.
They pulled the beta from the store booooo.
