So, who remembers Binary Domain? A third-person shooter that launched on the PlayStation 3 all the way back in 2012, it was developed by the team behind the Yakuza series over at SEGA. While it certainly had its flaws, the general consensus here at Push Square is that it was a bit of an underrated gem.
Much like Yakuza, it had characters with strong personalities and some fun plot twists. A lot of it was hammy and we can't help but remember some supposedly serious scenes in a comical light, but overall, it was a rock solid and very enjoyable title. It was also bolstered by some superb enemy design -- blasting the limbs off scrappy robots never got old.
Anyway, we've always wished for some sort of sequel or even a remaster, and it sounds like Yakuza producer Daisuke Sato shares our passion. "As far as I’m concerned, I would love to make a sequel," he told Gameblog.fr. "It is purely a question of practicality and administration. It’s up to SEGA to decide whether or not they want to do it," Sato explained.
Come on SEGA, greenlight that PS4 remaster and get this ball rolling.
